Trunk/Frunk "shelves"

Just picked up my MY25 Pure RWD. No frunk divider, no L1/L2 charging cable in fitted bag, no communication regarding the absence of either coming in from my MY23 Pure AWD buyback. Annoying, though admittedly I rarely used either accessory in the 16 months I had the AWD. Bit of a disappointing breakdown in communication in an otherwise fantastic (2nd) purchase experience. Then again if it were a BMW they'd have charged me for the weight saving deletions, so I guess I should be grateful.
I may not be following it, did you say Lucid bought back your Pure AWD? Can you share more?

There was a persistent minor yet annoying trunk mechanism issue that had the car in service for 60+ days in the first year or so (33% more than the California threshold for a lemon). Basically, every so often, I'd receive an app notification that the trunk was open, which really meant it became mechanically unlatched yet was still visually closed. Still a bit unnerving since I'd often street-park in downtown SF with expensive music equipment in the trunk. Ultimately I think it was a trunk fitment issue from the factory, and they basically replaced the back 5th of the car to finally resolve it.

All my local service reps handled the situation extremely courteously and professionally, offered to repurchase the car without any encouragement from my end, and even provided me a courtesy vehicle in the weeks between delivery of my new one. S/O Michael with customer relations and Victoria at the Santa Clara Westfield Valley Fair Lucid Studio, and of course Christopher Robinson for putting up with countless service requests like a pro.

Did they give you the $1000 charging credit?

Great to see how Lucid took care of this issue. How do you find the new pure compared to the AWD?

They actually rolled over the remaining 1.5ish years of my original 3 years of free EA charging (woohoo!).

Still very much in the early discovery of answering this question. Definitely not as quick to accelerate off the line (duh) or in traffic, but accordingly, quite eager to break traction at the rear in what I'd describe as 7/10ths spirited driving, which I'm not mad about and rather quite intrigued. The traction control does intervene A LOT during maneuvering that wouldn't unsettle the AWD, which given how predictable the oversteer on my last Pure was, should be quite fun with a touch less TC in the drive settings...eventually. I'm less than a week in, and the bay area rain is exaggerating the dynamics a bit, but I'm looking forward to learning her a bit better when I'm safely able and shall report back. Man, I really wish Lucid did owner track days. And gave away new tires while they're at it. But overall, should be a fun leveling up in car control and driver skill since the AWD seemed to defy physics with its road holding characteristics, whereas the RWD seems more inclined to exploit physics for a good time :)

Also, I swear the seating position feels higher when at the lowest setting. Even though I'm 5'8" I found myself preferring that setting to maximize the sports car/go cart feel, and unless it's a mind trick with the lighter shade of roof lining fabric (versus the AWD's dark alcantara), I feel closer to the roof than before. I also feel I have better/taller outward vision, which backs this theory up. Nothing that's a real bother, just an observation. Range seems as identical as the spec, but I've only driven 150 miles so far so we'll see what happens after a few charges.

Overall, happy to stay in the Lucid family, especially with December's lease numbers. Would love to hear what others have observed with their AWD vs RWD Pure experiences.

They 100% did, and more than made up for the frustrations with my outgoing car by setting me up with my new one.

As far as driving comparisons, I'm very much in the early discovery of answering this question. One pedal driving also has been an adjustment in the RWD as it feels much less aggressive in normal mode, which may be a calibration decision, but I've found myself applying the brakes quite often whereas I probably touched that pedal a dozen times total in the past year.

Overall, definitely a learning curve, but happy to stay in the Lucid family - especially with December's lease numbers. Would love to hear what others have observed with their AWD vs RWD Pure experiences.

Looks like i ran out of proofreading time by a hair, but here's a 10% more thoughtful reply above ;)
