Too Frustrating

That varies greatly based on where you road trip though. That's probably true in your area, but not for the vast stretches of WY, UT, NV, CO, etc that we frequent. Lots of dead spots for long stretches through the desert and prairie and mountains.
My Air streamed Apple Music continuously through Wyoming, and navigation data, just as a small datapoint. Also Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona. With very little dead zones.

But you can't stream with no cell service. Road trip frequently across the empty stretches of WY, UT, NV, etc and streaming is useless for hours at a time, except for a few minutes passing thru a town.

We're coming from a Mustang Mach-E and a Porsche Macan EV.

Also, the title of this thread really is *too frustrating* facepalm 🤦🏻‍♂️

I take that Lucid Gravity is so good the only thing we can dig is streaming music where there is no cellular connection lol.

I use Tidal.

Oh shit, I didn't know that!! So no SXM antenna in the Gravity?? Damnit, that's gonna be a huge downgrade for us. This is gonna be our road-tripper vehicle. We use SXM 99.8% of the time. I just assumed any good car would have it built in.

🤬
There actually are two little discussed advantages to the streaming version of SXM. You’ll get many more stations on the internet version and the sound quality, as compressed as it may be, is less compressed than the satellite versions. So there’s that. 😊

I get those too. The integrated apps in our other cars get all the channels (satellite and internet). I favorite about a dozen of them to rotate through (some of each). When the cell signal dies for half an hour on a rural stretch, I just stick to the satellite channels. Looks like I won't have that option in the Lucid. Gonna have to figure out what to do for those long stretches. Downloads, somehow. More planning, more work, less convenience. 😑

Be great if that were the only issue. You may not wanna look in any other threads around this forum though. 😉

If someone on here speaks for Lucid, it would be nice to hear about future fixes. My Air had some issues (some as a result of my confusion) but all have been fixed OTA. Dream Drive works as advertised and I hope they expand Hands Free to all divided highways.

Am I lucky here in Dubai I can only get Air this year and God knows when Gravity.

On the bright side, I know exactly what to expect from the car and every software update as its delayed for few months here.

It can be as easy as downloading a Playlist or two on your phone to have on hand in case. Many music apps can do this pretty easily.

You're right and I hadn't considered that. I figured if I got signals across BFE in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, everyone else would too, but as with anything YMMV.

Although I have had some frustrating issues in the short time I’ve owned my Lucid, when I opened the garage this morning, I said, “damn, this car is so beautiful.” Then I drove to work and it was so much fun to drive. And as luck would have it, Sirius XM worked great! 😀

Perhaps you can answer this for me... When apps like Apple Music or Spotify play through your phone as opposed to a native app, is some of the SSP functionality lost? I don't seem to notice a difference on Spotify, but I admit to having a tin ear.
I managed to get one native Dolby Atmos track to play though Amazon Music Unlimited trial on my last roadtrip, I could tell that was a native lossless track even though it was through Carplay. Also, a lot of the music apps (Soundcloud, Youtube Music, Amazon Music, Apple Music) do actually work through Carplay and can be controlled by the car's music UI/Steering wheel controls to just skip songs.

With all this radio talk, is no one going to even mention the complete lack of AM? I mean come on, it’s a six figure car. I’ve got Tidal and TuneIn and apparently something called “SiriusXM”…Where’s the AM??? Too frustrating. 😂
