Lucid will generally honor current incentives unless your car has been put into production, but nobody can actually predict that.

As I mentioned earlier, there is no one right answer for whether it is better to lease or buy. You have to take into account both your desires (leasing means you don't own the car, has minimums on insurance, has annual mileage limits, etc.) and the price (there may be better leasing incentives today, or buying incentives, or a better rate, etc.).

Literally nobody but you can answer whether it is better to buy or lease for you, and you have to do the math. Leasehackr is a great place to run some comparisons once you have some numbers. The Air is literally on their front page right now as a good lease deal due to incentives.

They have a useful calculator here where you can compare: https://leasehackr.com/calculator

And a great set of articles to learn more about leasing: https://leasehackr.com/blog?category=Leasing 101
I’ve tried using LeaseHackr but their Rate Findr has no information on Lucid.

The response is different. I don’t think it’s literally slower; but my Air DE *feels* faster. I don’t know if that’s the throttle response, weight, or gearing… but the Gravity is much “smoother”.

Better for passengers for sure, and it has no problem pulling speed; but it doesn’t feel as aggressive when it does it.

Just different vibes, and obviously just my opinion.
I think you described it perfectly. Also my wife has a harder time driving the Gravity. She’s 5’ and even with the seat up all the way she can’t see where the edges of the front of the car are so it’s a little scary for her to maneuver. She can’t see the front of her S-Class either, but she also chooses a car by the color, so there’s that.

I’m having trouble understanding the incentives from Lucid right now. This is the calculation for a lease:

IMG_1944.webp

Is that Air Credit above for $11,250 the $7500 off plus Conquest $2000 off plus Loyalty $2000 off? That’s $11,500, so that would be a difference of $250. Plus I don’t qualify for either of the last two because I’d have to take delivery by Oct 31 and I want Dream Drive PRO. That’s not available on any cars in stock. But I don’t see this $11,250 off listed ANYWHERE.

This is very confusing. I’m not going to put down a non-refundable $1000 before I know all the facts. It looks like they won’t tell me all the facts until I do.

I also just found out that the discounts from referrals is NO LONGER VALID:

This is what I just received from Lucid:

IMG_1948.webp

Yet… the page remains cash discounts after a refresh.

All of this combined with the lease return stories is leaving a very bad taste. It’s too bad because I really love the car. I guess my tolerance for these kinds of rug-pulls isn’t that high. If the lease wasn’t the best move I was just going to buy the Air GT while I wait for the Gravity GT to get the bugs worked out and probably buy one of those as well.

Now? I don’t know. I doubt it. The Panamera seems to be suddenly more interesting again while I wait to see what the 2027 Cayenne EV is like.

This sucks. I had my mind made up on Lucid. I even bought quite a lot of LCID stock.

I’m not sure, but you can ask sales. They would know the answer.

They misunderstood you. They must have thought you were asking if you got cash if you referred someone, to which the answer is no, you only get points.

Most people don’t text customer care unless they own a vehicle, so seems like an honest mistake.

The lease return thing was bad, but has gotten better and they really are trying to fix it - this is BofA/LFS pulling the rug, not Lucid.

You can avoid any worries about that by simply buying the car, either outright or paying the residual if it makes sense if you lease.

Now? I don’t know. I doubt it. The Panamera seems to be suddenly more interesting again while I wait to see what the 2027 Cayenne EV is like.

Honestly? I think you’ve spent too much time reading, and nearly talked yourself out of an amazing car.

But your choice, at the end of the day. :)

No, but I can see why you might think that. The text was a follow up to a phone call where I was explicitly told it had changed. During the call I sent the link you saw in the text message which sh now’s the discount, as we were discussing incentives and discounts. Upon seeing that she was going to double check with Lucid and let me know. Her written reply in the text was confirming its only points now.

@bdunn Now I'm sure. I have no idea where you were looking, but they make it very clear and separate it out. There is no rug-pulling. You are working yourself into a tizzy about things that are not an issue.

Well, she's wrong. Whether she misunderstood is pretty irrelevant. Someone literally used my referral code yesterday, so I'm certain.

You may be right about that. But I’m also thinking about this from an investor’s perspective. I have more than a 2026 AGT invested in LCID, and I’m a believer of investing in what I know.

Yes I’ve been looking. The 2025s are out there for $100k or so. I found one the other day for $75k but someone bought it before I could.

A big reason I wanted the 2026 was to have the new AC compressor (I am in Texas) and to have one with fewer of the earlier model year issues.
I am in texas as well with a 2022 GT and can relate. With the sunshades they sell now and keeping the AC on while parked has worked miracles.
The car is a bad investment for me because I paid full price and still have only 11Kish miles on it 😃.

I thought the Gravity has all kinds of new tech on it. It was great to drive and boy that turning radius on it is so much better compared to the GT.

Either way the GT is fun to drive.

Okay… valid point. I’m glad to see that. However this page was just updated. That wasn’t there earlier. I spent a long time looking everywhere to make sure I understood and when I called about it I was told they would be updating the page, they weren’t certain if the $11,250 incentive included the other discounts or not.

You must feel reassured that she chooses cars by color. This way you never have to bear responsibility for choosing a car that doesn't perform as expected. Since she doesn't care, there's not much risk there. Unless, of course, you manage to bleach her car when washing it :)

I feel a bit better. Thank you for looking at the site again. I was already on Porsche.com.

Or buy the wrong color!

I agree with @borski , please stop working yourself up over nothing. That page and associated check boxes was there for a while. (I was just looking at an Air vs. Gravity the other day with a friend). The incentives change every month, but what you have on the purchase agreement is all that matters.

No need to do everything alone. Email the sales reps and say what you need and the credits you feel are applicable, then have them write it into a purchase agreement, either loan or lease.

If you don’t want a Lucid and you want a Porsche go to Porsche. I think it’s just getting worked up over a whole lot of nothing. Poking around on a website is fruitless, if the Refferals are gone (which they are not) then they will be gone and the team won’t be able to add them to the purchase agreement. Problem solved.

So you bought the LCID in sept of 2025? But now don’t like the car and on several threads stated you’re halting the purchase?

So strange, how would you invest in what you know (presumably $150k by your measure) but not know anything about the vehicle. Yet say “I’m a believer in investing in what I know”. I’m so confused. It doesn’t really matter, but still confused on the other side over here.

No, those orders were placed yesterday. As far as why, that’s entirely my business, but it was my first thought after my initial test drive a couple of weeks ago, and that was after car shopping for about a month. I continued shopping but couldn’t stop thinking about the Lucid.

Let me say this, and you don't have to believe me: I have never, ever, in my 3.5 years or so of owning a Lucid and >4 years of knowing a bunch of people there, seen them intentionally fee-gouge, lie, cheat, or anything else. That is why I am so flabbergasted when I do see something like that, like the lease returns, and it makes a lot of sense that that is coming from BofA/LFS, not Lucid directly.

Lucid, historically, has generally been accountable. They make mistakes, they absolutely screw up individual cases sometimes, and so on - but they generally make it right.

And I have never, ever, seen a 'company-wide' intentional rug-pull or anything like that. If anything, it has always been the opposite.

That's my opinion.

It doesn't mean they can't, and it doesn't mean they never will. Companies change over time. But it does mean I'm very skeptical when I hear of it, and thus far I have not found anything unreasonable other than the lease returns.

All fair. My suggestion would be: stop thinking, start driving. :) Best way to know the car is to drive it, not read about it.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Lucid is a class act.

After you buy the Porsche you’ll still be thinking about the Lucid. I guarantee it!
