I am on vacation and driving an ice Mercedes through Maine. Every second of the drive I am wishing it was my lucid. In so many ways the Lucid drives like a dream.

For me the Porsche vs Lucid decision came down to: do I want a sedan that is secretly a sports car or a sports car that has sedan characteristics? The Lucid just looks so classy, the software is really nice (bugs and all), and the drive is the best thing I’ve driven.

No need to do everything alone. Email the sales reps and say what you need and the credits you feel are applicable, then have them write it into a purchase agreement, either loan or lease.

Then I don’t know what’s happening here. While talking to the sales rep she also went to the exact same page I was looking at when I asked about the Conquest offer, and she couldn’t find it there either. There was simply no way to select any incentives, which is why we were both confused what the automatically applied $11,250 did or didn’t contain. I was told that they were told about it only today, and the web site should be updated later. Then I asked about the referral discount when I was told that also changed as of this morning.

I know she was in a meeting this morning so I assumed this is when they were informed.

You make a very good point about the agreement and letting them do all of that. The confusing web site is what bothered me, so I continued to investigate to make sense of it and couldn’t.

Like the crazy lease return charges, these kinds of miscommunications from their staff and web site are what will turn off a buyer. Lucid is too new of a company in the auto business to allow for that half a decade later. I think it’s very important that Lucid has better QC of their web site as well as their cars. They can have the best technology in the world but if the consumer is frustrated, they will not be buyers, and owners with issues will spread the word quickly and often publicly. You see some of that here where most people seem to love their cars.

I am not sure if this is stating the obvious, but when you lease a car you can buy the lease out at any time. If you aren't sure which one you want to do, leasing seems the safer choice. If you change your mind later you can then buy out the lease. If you buy the car you can't change your mind and switch it to a lease.

buying out is more expensive. Also you need to factor in lease return fees for damage and exceeding mileage. You need to remove any film on the car before you return. Less stressful to buy the car not deal with the banks when returning the car.
 
Suggestion: rent an Air GT on Turo (travel to a different area if there aren't any in your area). Spend a weekend with it in an area of roads you like to drive. We did this, driving 800 miles of twisty mountain roads. Everyone was saying the Gravity drives even better...that's what convinced us to order our Gravity DE. Having already been on some of those roads with the Gravity, we are not disappointed!
 
There are more votes to buy the Air Touring. I would do that except for one problem. The Lucid massaging seats are great, but you can’t get those in the Touring unless it’s in Purluxe. Otherwise I would probably get the Touring.

I’m still on pause. Maybe I will buy a certain overpriced DE. 😁 I do like the color.

But make sure if u do it is a 2025 or 2026. They made a lot of improvements with the 2025 model year…

I have now driven a 2022, 2023, 2024 and my own 2025 AGT. I spent a couple of weeks with the 2022, four days with the 2023 and just two test drives in a 2024.

My Dad also owns a 2025 AT and I have driven that extensively.

If I were you I’d buy either a lightly used 2025 AGT or a new 2026 AGT. The AT is a great car, but the better charging time, additional power, better range and 20-way leather seats make me miss my car when I drive his!

IME, the pre-2025 cars are just not as well made…and they had more issues as you go back in time. I almost bought a fully loaded 2023 AGT for about 60% of the price of the 2025 AGT I ended up leasing (the lease deal in 12/24 was simply too good to pass up). I am glad I didn’t…the changes to the car in 2025 are just that significant (IMHO)…

Oh, and my 2025 AGT is my favorite car of all time including BMW’s, Audi’s, Ferrari’s, Lexus, Acura…

Do you know some of the things they changed in 2025 and then in 2026?

Also what was the lease deal at the time?

My 2022 DE is perfect :) but I’m not selling it. :p

That said, I agree that 2025+ made a lot of significant improvements.

WHY ARE WE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS MORE????

I have posted in several other threads on the Forum about my recent journey from driving a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance for the past six years to ordering Lucid Air Grand Touring (including this thread) and rather remarkably, I only learned of some SIGNIFICANT improvements to the Grand Touring starting in the 2025 Model Year AFTER making the decision to buy a 2025 model rather than trying to save some $$ on an earlier model year. Even my wonderful Lucid Rep at my local Studio (Alexxa Irizarry) did not mention the majority of those listed...

I didn’t mention Porsche because I’ve never owned one, although my Dad did and I drove his many times (911S from around 2005). Let’s just say that the price:value relationship with Porsche (once properly optioned) I’ve never been willing to condone with a purchase.

There were all kinds of incentives off the sticker back in December ‘24 PLUS a near zero interest rate yielding a $975/mo payment with $4,000 down. The residual is also low enough $57k (IIRC) that I fully intend to buy it after 36 months…
