Delete Highway Assist.
This is obviously for people who like to play with their phones. You know who you are.
There are so many more reasons it is useful than that. Here's one, from today: I have PTSD from 9/11; long story short, I was 4 blocks away and in my 4th day of high school, and continued to go to HS basically at ground zero, etc. Sometimes, when a plane flies low overhead, or if I hear a plane, I am forced to watch it. My body, my brain, they simply will not calm down until the plane is out of sight or out of earshot.
I can usually control it just fine, now; that's taken time. But sometimes it's like a magnet, and my eyes just have to follow the plane, and it is a difficult
conscious effort to not look at the plane.
This morning it was very early, I was driving to SF, and I was tired... and around SFO a plane flew low(ish) across the highway to land. I
had to follow it with my eyes, and it was right then that I turned on Drive Assist; not so that I could ignore the road, but because for those 120 seconds or so, it was literally helping me stay calm and present by giving me one less thing to worry about
in that moment.
There are many reasons I'm glad it exists. And, as you know, I generally like to
drive my car, not have it drive me. But sometimes we could all use a little help.
