Tesla Tap broke!

I’ve had zero issues and used many times. Will continue to use anytime my only option is a Tesla destination charger. I have the 60 amp version. I can’t see how you could break it pulling straight out. Patience grasshopper.

Because Bunny is SWOLE

I fixed my charging port. With driving it shook the TeslaTao piece of plastic that was stuck loose and I was able to remove it with needle nose pliers and the car charges fine now. But yeah I’ll be asking TeslaTap makers for a refund.

Great news, at least in terms of your upcoming road trip. I guess you can cancel the mobile service tech, too.

This is the one I bought…. Wonder if any betterf

Several members have reported that the mini Tesla Tap can get stuck on the Tesla charger. @Alex first mentioned this could be resolved by slightly grinding the inside of the Tesla Tap. With the problems seen by @Alex and @bunnylebowski, it seems reasonable to consider the Lextron adapter instead (see attached image). This adapter has not been problematic and makes large numbers of Tesla destination chargers available for use.

OK, an update… i was charging today and experienced the “locked in” problem. Couldn’t remove the adaptor. Shined a bright light inside to see what was holding things up. There is a “button” or interlock inside there… I used a screwdriver to press it in and the adaptor came out easily… no problem.

Wanted to share a solution if this happens to others.

Yeah that’s what happened to me. I thought the emergency release button above would release it, and it didn’t, but once I got it out I did see that little button, now I know what it’s for, thanks!

I bought that one and put in my trunk as backup one day. I never actually used it.

The Lectron Tesla adapters only go up to 48A. The Tesla Tap adapters seem to be the only game in town that supports 80A.

I think most of the issues have been with the mini. I have the full size TT80 and have used it many times without a problem.

I think that’s what I have, the NOT-Mini. I’ve only been charging at home for three days but so far, no problems.

I just used my Mini at a hotel destination charger this past weekend. I actually used it on two different chargers at the hotel (out of the four they had). It was a somewhat tight fit on one of the chargers, but no problem at all on the other. No issue whatsoever on the Lucid side. That being said, the car drove fine in the hurricane from Charlotte to Chapel Hill on Friday. Only downside, I have now noticed that one of the little silver pieces in the bottom lip of the trunk edge has started to peel off and has bent, making it hard to stick down. The lining of the trunk has majorly separated from the rubber gasket around the trunk. The interior piece running from b-pillar to b-pillar between the glass pieces has started to fall down and something is rattling around in there, probably an installation clip of some sort.
