Fresh off my successful trial of a Tesla Supercharger, I tried a Mercedes-Benz charger for the first time over the weekend at the Daytona Beach Buc-ee's. It was easily the best public charging experience I have had in the Lucid. I parked in front of the charger, tapped my credit card on the charger console, plugged in (it uses a CCS1 plug), and charging began immediately. No apps, no accounts, no pre-installed payment details, no extended negotiation between the charger and the car. Truly as easy as pumping gas.

Speeds were surprisingly fast as well. Unfortunately I didn't think to write down the charging speeds as they were happening, but the charger took my Pure from 20% to 63% in about 15 minutes.

I was quite impressed. I hope they continue to build them out across the country.

Wow. An MB charging station? Surprised one of those is in Daytona of all places. Mercedes whole EQ line is a bit of a mess with poor sales (although I've driven an EQS Sedan, it's is quite nice). I'm better they pause whatever plans they had to for larger station rollout. Doesn't really make sense at this point.

I had the same kind of experience at an MB charging station. It was at a Buc-eyes which was my first experience with that mega convenience store chain. By the time I got inside, got a couple of snacks and got back to the car I had all the charge I needed. This was with my old car, not my Lucid, but I think my charging speed was over 200 KW the whole time.

My husband drives a EQS and I drive a Lucid AT. We charge both at home with the Lucid charger. We have never used a public charger.

what was the per KWH charge? in Florida the FPL units work well and charge .32 per KWH which is far lower than what EA charges

Good to know. I see those at the Turnpike service plazas but I was always on the Tesla side of the charging lanes until this year.
