New (for me) AGT, and coming from a Tesla Model S I really like it. Trying to be a completist, I've attempted 3 times to take a picture for the face recognition feature. I've done it in bright sunlight, but it fails saying there something in the way. I assume it's the steering wheel, and have tried several positions of the wheel, and moving around a bit myself. So far, no dice. What am I missing? I hope this is not required for hands free driving, which I haven't tried yet.

Any guidance appreciated.

That’s weird. When you’ve adjusted the wheel can you clearly see the camera and the top of the steering wheel isn’t obstructing it?

Try lowering the seat as low as it will go and make sure the camera has an unobstructed view. It’s finicky for sure but if you continue to have issues, I’d contact Lucid.

Welcome btw :)

Where is the camera? I thought it was below the main screen

You’ll see a reflective panel (like an IR remote) off the cockpit screen. My experience has been that either the steering column or top of the steering wheel sometimes obstructs it. I generally found if you could see the camera fully through the center of the steering wheel unobstructed it worked.

Just to be sure no software issue is lingering, give the car a reboot as well. On the settings screen, tap “about” and hold your finger on the Lucid logo for about 15 to 20 seconds to give the car a reboot,

Got it (and thanks for your help. Steering wheel was too high. Is it recommended you do a second one with sunglasses because that's usually what I drive with?

You’re welcome!

I never did that and never had any issues but now the hands free option is available for DD Pro it might be worth it.

(Can’t vouch for hands free issues with the camera as I upgraded to a Gravity before hands free was available on the Air)

Can’t hurt.
