Stereo suddenly sounds like crap

I received two "valet cards" and two fobs. But no little string-thingys to attach to the fobs as others have mentioned!
I figured as much given that we got two fobs. Awesome (or not) that my delivery specialist absconded with one of my cards. Now to find out how to get a replacement.

UPDATE: If it holds true, a quick call to customer service and they said they will get a replacement out to me straight away. That would be awesome service! 🤞

My two key cards and two key fobs came in smart little black box, with the “string thingys” attached to both fobs. The little box was very nicely presented to me by my SA, Mark in Costa Mesa, along with other swag (water bottle, hat).

However I’ve never gotten my box of pencils.
Exactly the same for me. Same delivery location and swag. My delivery person was Matt, though.

On the subject of the "valet card". Sooooo not a valet card. More like an emergency "get in my car" card. Would love to see it actually have valet characteristics (ie. lock trunk/frunk/glovebox, limit horsepower/top speed, etc.). Don't want to hijack the stereo thread too badly :) How many valet cards should we have gotten? I got one. The delivery specialist was waving one around at the delivery and didn't see it make it's way back into the black box but could have missed it.
I thought someone mentioned that the key card drive disabled sprint and swift? So only 600 hp and not 800 available 🤣

@hydbob I wish that were the case. On my car at least, all three modes are active using the valet card and PIN to gain access. I did see someone post something about rubbing the card somewhere on the headliner to avoid using the PIN? Maybe that disengages the horsepower modes?? Not sure if that PIN defeating process is even a thing.

All modes are still available even then.

You can hold it on the “triangle microphone array” in between the front two seats on the roof of the car to avoid using a PIN.

I believe if you do that and it doesn’t recognize your face, it will put you into the Guest profile which disables Sprint.

If it recognizes your face it will use your profile.

Doesn't putting in the pin essentially negate the valet aspect of the card?

It does. That's why you can tap it to the microphone array between the front two seats and it should put the car in the guest profile, which doesn't allow you to use Sprint mode.

So glad I read all about the valet card in the Owners Manual. What page was that again?

Let me get this info in one place, because I can't find it in the owners manual:

VALLET CARD:

key card is called "valet card" because it will default to "guest profile" if the car does not recognize you.
key card locks/unlocks car by holding to B pillar above camera.
key card will prompt for pin
key card can be used to start car and drive without pin (you must hold it near the flux capacitor. this is a closely-held secret).
if key card does not recognize you it enables guest profile which keeps car locked out of Swift mode. Smooth and Swift are enabled. I don't know if there are any other restrictions, but this one is worth knowing and a reason to give guests the card and not your fob...unless the fob works the same way, in which case I don't know why it's called the valet card... but even then ... the car is wicked in Smooth mode...Valet card should put the car in "Golf Cart" mode and lock funk, trunk, glove box if no pin is entered.

I haven't tested to see if the fob without battery works the same as the key card ...ok give me a sec...

KEY FOB WITH NO BATTERY:

Key fob with no battery unlocking = when held to B pillar below camera.
(note it does not work above the camera as the card does, whilst the card does not work under the camera).
Key fob with no battery locking = when held to B pillar below camera then push handle in.

Key fob with no battery asks for pin. Does not work in Area 51 (ceiling sensor ). This makes it different from the card.

please edit this for errors or additions i can't check if any messages, etc., have appeared since my screens are dead. using the owners manual pdf .

sorry, I should have said as borski said: guest locks out sprint.

seems like swift and sprint should both be locked-out for a guest

I think this happened to me as well the second day after taking delivery. Radio was working fine...I think I was on Bluetooth streaming something from my phone. Parked the car for a quick grocery run and came back to open the door and realize the speakers..especially back right one was absolutely screeching...no other way to explain it. Also seemed like me turning the volume down or low kept the screeching volume the same. Eventually when I thought it was off, every indicator signal or any lane assistance that the car was beeping out...was screeching again....I don't know how I fixed it but I think it was just sitting parked overnight and since the following day it's been fine. Super wierd!
The screeching coming from a back speaker has been reported before by @hmp10 and @Drendino. It occurred multiple times with @hmp10 with the sound being unbearable. Below is a quote from one of the previous posts. I do not recall how this was resolved. Hopefully, @hmp10 will respond. If not, you should send him a DM.
This was the second episode I've had of this happening. The first time there were four people in the car, and we all had to get out and go inside while the car rebooted. (The poor slob next to that speaker almost lost an ear.)

This second time, I was backing the car out of the garage to wash it when the ear-splitting shrieks started. I tried the "left blinker reboot", but the intermittent bursts continued. I then went inside the house to let the car power down and reboot. When I returned, I heard another blast inside the car before I got within 20 feet of it. I just gave up and started washing the car. After a couple more blasts, the problem stopped.

I haven't had a recurrence of this problem since that post. I'm hoping the recent basket of software updates has corrected the problem. However, the incidents were infrequent enough that I can't yet be sure.

For the record, I haven’t had any of these issues after the big software update.

I’m gonna have my GT checked at service. The pro system seems way off. No bass and I have to turn the radio up to 3/4 for it to even sound remotely loud. Burmester in my Porsche is significantly better. I was excited for this system but it’s underwhelming or something is wrong with it. Really like the car overall

There’s a thread here from a few years ago, about Lucid service taking a piece of duct tape, to patch a hole behind the plastic panel that forms the left side of the driver’s footwell. Very quick and easy fix, for as long as it’s done by one of their service pros.

Seems like something owners should be able to do, no? Why does it require the service pros?

Probably. Maybe not all would require the service pros, but I did. I didn’t trust myself to pull that plastic panel off, not destroy the clips behind it, mess something else up, and reattach it. For me it was easier and safer to call “Frank”, our local mobile service guru, and have him do it. Took him all of three minutes at no cost to me.

Makes sense. Seems more involved than I initially understood!
