Some odds and ends

Last pic is the range map. It shows you how far you can approximately drive based off the remaining range of the car.

Testing sprint mode...anywhere I can, where there are no police! Mainly on freeway onramps though

You're in my old neck of the woods! I'm from Arcadia, and my folks still live at the top of Santa Anita below Chantry Flats.

Thanks for all the photos and thoughts on the Air. It's great to learn about the car, seeing as we just haven't seen a comprehensive review on all its features so far.

Where are you testing sprint mode in that area?
Mine too. I remember that area well when I was in grad school!

Here are the 4 map modes on the right side driver panel.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the next turn superimposed directly over the map. Generally the next turn direction is off to one side, not over the map.

How do you like that? Can you call up a list of steps in the Nav as opposed to just the next turn?

Actually I like it since it's semi-transparent. Yes you can pull up the list of steps on the pilot panel. I just wanted to show how the 4 modes showed up on the right driver panel. I can do the same with the pilot panel tomorrow.

Nice, I wonder if they call it the range cloud...

That's a very interesting feature. Any idea whether it is based statically on the EPA rated range or whether it adjusts dynamically based on the power consumption over the last x number of miles or x distance?

I'm hoping for dynamic! It could in essence allow you to temporarily have a lead foot.

I'm almost certain it's based off the range calculation in your car which is calculated based off your driving dynamics at the time. I'll see if I can get a before and after with range picture later today to see.

Here's some more info to digest

6) Installed some general floor mats to protect the carpeting until a custom set is produced. The overall fit was nice, especially in the rear.

Where did you get the floor mats? They really fit nicely.

Amazon! Motortrend mats

So tested the range map, it definitely adjusts when you have less range see below. I also included the other map views on the pilot panel.

Bonus pic, mini lucid!

Rear facing car seat test for those who have kids that age
Very helpful posts, thanks for taking the time to make such helpful posts and share all your findings!
2 questions :
1. How is your opinion now on overall interior noise now that you have had the car for slightly longer? I know the rear felt louder right of the bat but do you still feel the driver and passenger seats have low noise levels (both road and wind noise)? Not sure if you have had either a Model S or MB S Class but curious where you would rate the lucid to fall between those 2?
2. How is the Dolby atmos? Any better than say a B&O system you could get in a Benz or better or worse?

Since these vehicles have door frames I really hope the noise level is much quieter than my Model S which howls at high speeds. I had Tesla try to fix 3 times with no success as there is always a gap when the glass is all the way up.

How is the acceleration when not in launch mode? Are there any numbers showing acceleration from stand still without launch mode?

The Air is quieter than any car I've owned or driven. Compared to a MB S class it's quiter in the front for sure, but don't have any dara regarding the EQS. There is road noise but it's something that is inevitable for a car that feels this planted and connected to the road. I'm also on 21" which bring that noise in more.
The speakers are great, I just wish I had a Dolby source to really test it out. Otherwise everything is crisp but for my personal preference slightly lacking in bass.

Acceleration is awesome in Sprint. In smooth and swift you feel a lot less throttle response on the accelerator.

Thanks for all this detail and great pictures. I am curious if wireless Carplay is active or will that come with a future OTA software update?

Right now it is not active.

Right now it is not active.
Does that mean it’s not active as a wireless CarPlay? Is it active is wired? Or, not available at all

Sorry let me rephrase, Android auto is not active plugged in. It doesn't bring anything up. There no option menus for carplay or Android auto. If it's supposed to auto load, I don't have an IPhone to test it.
