Software version 3.2.2

My SA and I were texting today about other stuff and he mentioned that we can plug in to the glovebox usb and record when we get the update.

Specifically said when I asked about recording: Yep. It looks like the best thing to do would be to use a minimum of 128gb usb flash drive. The port is in the glove box!
I’ve not looked. Is it usb c?

Old school USB
For the Air the USB Audio I found you needed the faster USB (I didn’t realize USB A had a variety of speeds for the drive) so I’m wondering if it’s the same in Gravity for accessing the video storage. I suppose it’s FAT32 format as well?

Oftentimes, companies put this information in the owner’s manual…

My Gravity has been shipped and the software was updated late yesterday (September 13th) according to my dashboard to version 3.3.1).

Needing to have the car at a Service Center either to check out or to change out software has happened twice already with our Gravity and now for the third time. The first time was for diagnosing and reloading the software modules relating to our malfunctioning navigation system. It is currently waiting for a Service Center to install the software to run the replaced HUD unit, something else a mobile tech cannot do. And now it has to be at a Service Center for this 3.3.1 update for, I assume, the key fob issue (but that's not clear, as there are quite a few other software bugs many are experiencing).

I hope this is an anomaly that will soon fade away and not something inherent in the software architecture of the Gravity.
Not the same.

To be clear: this is an OTA. You install it just like any other OTA, at home or work or in your garden or while you sip your beer or whatever.

In order for the key fob fix to improve your experience, service must do something. It does not take a long time.

However, everything else in it works without service.

If it helps, think of it like the SSP fix for the Air a while ago, where the software was installed at home (and contained more than just audio tuning fixes), but then it wasn’t until service completed the TSC that the improved audio tuning actually worked.

That means that the timeline for doing this is somewhat less urgent; that is, you don’t need to be in a service center to install it. You just need to have service do a thing, after it’s installed, to improve one of those features.

If another update comes along between then and now, you can still install it.

You could wait until your next annual (theoretically) before having service do the key fob thing. Don’t, but that’s what I mean by it not being required to be at a service center to install the OTA.

Good to know, but it's kind of immaterial to me at this point. Our Gravity spends all its time at Service Centers, anyway. I'm kinda losing interest at this point.

I’ve never seen you sound so deflated. I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all this hassle, especially when you were such an early booster for the Lucid Gravity. Your enthusiasm for the car was infectious! I hope your luck turns around soon.

I interpreted the release note to mean that they're concerned about security of the fobs, and they don't want to lose control of the systems that program them. The risk of loss of the needed tool is much higher if there are a larger number of them traveling around with the mobile techs. It's easier to keep things secure if they're kept at service centers. I'm just speculating of course, but I'll bet the tool is actually pretty small, and could be transported by mobile techs if it wasn't for the security concern. Sensible security concerns would include both risk of theft, but also misuse by employees. In principle, the latter is much easier to monitor at a service center.

:(

I called the Roswell Service Center this morning to be sure the work ticket on our Gravity included the three things that the Miami Service Center was supposed to do on the car when we got back from our trip, because I don't want to get the car back from Atlanta only to have to ship it back over to Miami for another round of work.

After being on hold for several minutes, a person answered who sounded like a receptionist, as she said she would check to see if an advisor was available. She forwarded the call through. There was no answer on that line and only a message that said, "the person you are trying to reach is unavailable. Goodbye." And the call terminated with no way to leave a voicemail.

Anyone here received 3.3.1? How is Halo secure working? Any screenshots plz 🥺

Good L-rd. I can only imagine how frustrated and deflated you are. I have a much smaller issue and they’ve had my car for just over a week and I almost lost it when they told me last week it was waiting for something (already wrote about it in Service thread).

There’s definitely a difference between being a patient early adopter but supported by Lucid (your Air experience) and feeling like they’re just leaving you.

This, too, shall pass, but I’m really sorry you have to go through this.

As you’ve said before, I really think it’s a product of delivering the Gravity before they were really ready. So yes, there may only be some folks with big issues, but there are systemic issues as well (I.e. service is overwhelmed and has little guidance)…

All indications are it’s only been installed on pre-delivered cars and, perhaps, some cars at service centers but not back to customers.

I am sure Lucid wants to be super careful to make sure it’s a legit solve and doesn’t have other issues. Rivian bricked a bunch of infotainment systems with a relatively early OTA once. It was unpleasant.

Here is a 3.3.1 with fob/key issue

I don’t know if this is the “key” part of 3.3.1 but I spoke with service about my car this evening and they said the fob update is “the latest bulletin” for Gravity and they’ll address it while my car is there. Of course, that could be accurate or might be less than accurate. But he’s been spot on most of the time.

Hope to have car back tomorrow, so will keep folks posted.

Well…to be fair, had that person gone to sc for fob update? If not, then the error doesn’t surprise me. I was told only a visit to the sc actually “solves the issue for good”.
It was installed prior to new vehicle delivery
