i think they are super backed up, I am supposed to have service tomorrow but haven't heard anything from anyone.
 
If you're talking about MIllbrae, yes they are super backed up... once your car gets in there (after a weeks long wait) it's another 2 weeks for them to even get to it. Seems like San Jose hasn't helped yet and in fact they are worse off because some of their techs are down there now. But that's the topic of a different thread.

Mine in service now and I'm wondering if they will leave it on 2.8.7 or roll it back.

I experienced this as well. Went through several hard/soft car resets. Force quit the app. Log out in the phone and the car. Exit car and walk away for 20 minutes. One of them eventually worked. Or the network came back online which customer support suggested could have been the issue all along.

of you hard reset your car it will probably go back to the base 1.x, mine did

Same exact behavior for me. Now AA is connected between the time I open the door and put my butt on the seat. Unlocking is also better. I dont know what wizardry this is but first few days after 2.8.7 sucked ...then vast improvements in experience...bizarre to my linear engineering mind...

It only took AWS to go down to get back AA on 2.8.7. Thanks Amazon from us AA users on our Airs! 🤪

Jokes aside, after the blackout screen (once) and AA not working until Monday, two other things I've noticed that are positive: 1. less driver alerts on HFDA when you look away briefly and 2. Android mobile key has been working almost perfect. WIP I guess.

Note: 2023 GT (DDPro) with CCCV2 upgrade on Pixel 7.
 
I have 22AGT CCV2 upgrade and DDP and have not had any black screens. I am sitting at my wooden desk and knocking on it though.

I had the same audio issue using spotify on 2.8.7 (see attached video) and also the driver screen shutting off while driving on 4 different drives. I noticed the audio issue stopped after pausing and resuming the music.

Don’t have the 2.8.7, but the 2.8.5 really improved my phone key. Working perfectly! Thank you Lucid!
 
My front and back cameras stopped working after updating to 2.8.7, but a soft reset resolved the issue.
 
Drove my car for the first time last night since installing 2.8.4 and 2.8.7. My car had been sitting undriven for over a fortnight because I’d gotten sick. Before driving off, I did the obligatory all-screen reset.

On my 140 mile drive to work, I acquired and then lost Adaptive Cruise, Driver Assist and Hands Free Driver Assist. I’d reacquire them, retain for about a minute before losing them again, with the car basically giving up and my manually taking over.

50 miles into my drive, I lost all ADAS functions. Everything. No Hands Free, no Driver Assist, not even Adaptive Cruise Control. For the remainder of my drive to work I had even less automation than my very first four-wheel vehicle, a 1991 Honda Civic sedan.

I’m going to have to wait a few days before returning to my car and driving it again. Who knows if ADAS will come back after another deep sleep.

Sad.
 
I’ve had issues as related by others; the main screen has gone blank twice in two days - starting car agin resolved issue but concerning, and cameras have done same

Lucid baby what you doing

I don't have fancy DD, but I noticed the Lane Assist doesn't work that well on the newest update. If the paint is in the shade, the car will drive right over it without noticing.

I would like to applaud your use of the word "fortnight" though. Very nice.
 
Adding on top of the black screen issue, I’ve been getting very random warnings since I updated to 2.8.7, they disappear after a few seconds (seem to be false alarms, as I’ve never experienced them before), like passenger airbag warning, front radar warning, rear parking sensor warning, etc…

Can Lucid re-release 2.8.4 and roll it out to those of us driving on 2.8.7 (just rename it to 2.8.8 and say it’s more robust lol)? I’m honestly worried about driving my car with 2.8.7 with all these random and inconsistent software-related issues.
 
Just adding my post 2.8.7 experience:

My ‘23 Air GT (DD PRO, SS PRO) has been great since installing this update. Door openings seem more responsive, hands free driving and automated lane changes working great. Apple CarPlay has been consistently available.

I’m sorry to hear about the problems people are reporting, but this has been a solid update on my Air. Just sharing for perspective.
 
Starting in the last 2 to 3 days on the new update which I’ve had since it was released, I’m getting a delayed start up of the screen directly behind the steering wheel and the screen to the far left. There’s upwards of a 10 to 202nd delay, which means I can’t put the car into gear until the bootup sequence is complete. This is only happening when waking from a deep sleep. Strange because it didn’t happen the first few days I had the update.

funny i thought i was losing my mind. I got in this morning and went to open the garage and head off and went wait, the car isn't on? Then it did its light show startup on the dash there and was ready. But I swear it used to be ready to drive when I got in it.

Service called this morning at 830 am. Very nice guy. Told me to do a a hard reboot - they would text instructions with picture of what to do. Push X button and microphone button on steering wheel wheel depressing break for 15 seconds. Text never arrived and car at office with my wife. Will try it when car returns home. They said engineering is well aware of problems with new software and Lucid should have another update to the software in a few weeks. I’ll never give up my Porsche Spyder manual or Mangusta with stick. While ev’s are practical cars from A to B, they cannot replace the art and science of driving. No software needed - just an understanding of of how to drive a manual and let the car talk to you. This may not be popular and I understand those who cannot agree with my point of view, but I love driving and I love cars - ever since I can remember. Lucid is a great Ev and a great transport tool, and I’ve been very impressed with it, but if I could only keep one car….

My service appointment, also, just like didn't happen. They never called, didn't show, just nothing. When I finally got ahold of someone I was informed that my service advisor doesn't work there anymore and they just, idk, deleted the appointments he made? No calls, no email, nothing.

When I called customer service after my first call dropped (from inside my Lucid which started lagging so bad they couldn't hear me anymore), the guy that answered the phone said "oh, are you the guy who called and saw the trasnport driver on his Ring camera leave without the car??" Lol what?!? I said no, I'm the guy who's mobile tech just didn't show up :rolleyes:

Who knows man.

Sucks to hear about the 2 weeks thing, pretty weird to botch somethign that bad then not be able to fix it.

I have a 20 year old Escalade and a 12 year old Maserati. Neither have a shred of the tech Lucid does, but they both work reliably.

I also have what I now refer to as "my back-uo Tesla" which is my Model Y I haven't returned to Tesla yet. I'll have to drive it during light rain until I get my wipers fixed I guess.
 
As the owner pool gets larger I wonder if using a beta/prerelease firmware release system is more appropriate. Those who wouldn't mind giving feedback on new bugs/issues can sign up for the early release and those that prefer to stay on an older firmware longer. Possibly already being done but the latest releases seem rushed? Previously the updates were far and few in between but didn't have as many issues. I haven't had any major issues with 2.8.7 also.

They only make two models with a few hardware configurations, I'm sure they have an in house program of some sort. I'd love to see the 3.0 from the Gravity rolled out into the Airs, that software is awesome!
