I had a notice today that software update 2.5.4 was available.

Ya know, I wouldn't care about such carelessness except I still cannot wake the car from the Lucid app on Android.

What's the carelessness you ask? Take a look at the description of software update 2.5.4 in the attached screenshot (look at the screenshot itself, not my caption).

Update says 2.4.5. Perhaps, for limited cars (not sure)

It’s a typo. The actual release is 2.5.4. The notes have a typo that says 2.4.5. I’m not bothered by this, but it’s not unreasonable to be slightly annoyed by it.

My wife is dyslexic, and life is bigger than caring about a typo. But I used to, so I get it.

It was 2.5.4 but the release notes had the typo/mistake.

So, what does this mean for people STILL waiting for 2.5.3? Does this replace it, or do we need to keep waiting for 2.5.3 until we install it and then begin our wait for 2.5.4? Being among the last people to receive updates EVERY TIME was annoying enough. Now they are releasing so many 'one fix' updates that they are stacking up like flights into O'Hare!

2.5.3 was for a limited number of cars so not everyone will receive it.

That's good to know. Thanks, @Adnillien!

I guess since I don't have a pretty overhead accent light on my lowly Pure, I don't have to stress about never receiving 2.5.4 either.

Now, if only Lucid could figure out a way to let everyone know what OTAs to expect and what not to expect. And if only they could let everyone know when a roll-out starts and when it is thought to be complete. But then again... It must have been a tough enough road to hoe designing and building the most technologically advanced EV on the planet, but who besides stupid me would ever expect them to be able to achieve THAT!

Not that I'm frustrated or anything.

Released the importance of the overhead strip light.. it’s nearly impossible to locate the volume/temp controls since there’s no ambient overhead. Fwiw, the air gt I took delivery of on Wednesday of last week, had 2.5.3 installed, and the lucid rep that was walking me through the care pointed it our to me that “we installed the most recent system software”. So maybe all new ‘25’s get the update??

I received both 2.5.3 and 2.5.4. I have an air pure and have no special ambient lights. @Adnillien, can you share anything more about the 2.5.3 and which vehicles received it? OTA updates site shows it is for cars with newer screens. Mine is a 2024 pure and I was not aware of any screen upgrades.

Very interesting. Thanks, @tonybot!

Temp controls are lit…

So am I understanding correctly that neither 2.5.3 or 2.5.4 are for the 2022 models???

Maybe. I don't know about 2.5.4, but when I asked CS about 2.5.3 for my 2023 Pure, their response suggested that they had just not got around to me yet. So maybe not, too.

Really. At ten days after the first of these OTA updates, should something so simple be so confusing? Lucid is better than this.

My 24 Touring needed and got 2.5.3 but it was later that I noticed the center top ambiance light stopped working. All other light was working fine. If I shut off theme lighting and did a logo reset, everything was back to normal... til next car wake up. I'm on vacation and will not be close to my car before a week but hopefully will receive that update by then. Looks like there is a batch of 2024 car that have glitches like that and it seems that they can't figure when it exactly start and stop (if ever) on the production line. Of course I can be way out of the real reason.

Not in my (250 miles new) air gt. Spoke w my local store (Corte Madera) and they are escalating my issue. Watched reviews of the car again just now, and you’re right! I pretty much have only door and dash strip lights. Toggling headlights on/off has no effect. Also… random additional question.. is the back rt side of the steering wheel (behind microphone icon) supposed to feel lumpy as if the leather is wrapped over irregular padding and wires?

Post a picture to clarify your question.

Bizarre conclusion to the bump on the back of the steering wheel issue… Just finished charging at a station and saw a couple waving at me about to get into their white lucid air that looked well used. Started talking to them to learn that they both work for Lucid And the bump was on the back of their steering wheel too! All good! Everyone I meet from Lucid are the nicest people and the most passionate about working on such a great project. Love this adventure. Can’t wait for the ambient light to work. :) contacting support now.
