I called Lucid Customer Care on 4/9 to report a red warning "Right front light malfunction. Call Customer Care". They were very helpful and sent it on to the Scottsdale service center for follow-up.

Crickets.

On 4/22 I get a call from the service center telling me that the next available appointment is 6/23. I asked if a mobile tech could perhaps fix it. The service center said they'd check and call me back the next day before noon.

Crickets.

Still waiting for that call from a week and half ago.

Do I no longer drive at night? Do I attach a flashlight to the right front headlight if I do? I expected more from Lucid. They should rename where cars get fixed to the "Maybe Service Someday Center."

I just had my car serviced at the Scottsdale SC.. The short version: I scheduled my 2022 AGT for the 3yr Annual Service A (the light duty one) in Dec 2025, 4 months ago. In the past, this would have been a same-day service. I took the car in 2 weeks ago, on Apr. 20. I was told it will take 2 weeks to get to my car. They gave me a free Enterprise loaner. So, last Thursday (Apr 30), I went to the Scottsdale SC and ask if my car will be ready on Friday. The answer was, it might take another 2 weeks before we get to it! I asked to speak to the Service Manager. He said my service (A) is relatively simple and he will see what he can do to expedite it. He did. I picked up my car yesterday (Friday), after it sat at the Scottsdale SC for 2 weeks. And Lucid paid for a 2-week Enterprise rental for me.

Here is my learning:
> I've been serving my AGT at Scottsdale SC since Oct 2022. Until recently, I found them to be very good and usually turn my car around the same day. The only exception was, they kept my car for 2 weeks back in 2022 to replace the Wunderbox and battery because of a charging problem.
> The Scottsdale SC Service Manager told me they are fully staffed (over 30 people) and unaffected by the recent layoffs. That said, I don't recognize any of the people at the Scottsdale SC. Maybe the number of bodies are the same, but they were not the same people I dealt with for the first 2-1/2 years I owned the car.
>When I challenged the Scottsdale SC manager why can't I keep my car until they are ready and I can bring it in on short notice. I live 4 miles from the SC. He told me if he releases the car to me, my appointment is thereby cancelled, and everything has to start from scratch again. Why? He said it is a corporate process and cited the law about Lucid is legally liable for my car when there is an open service ticket. Maybe that's true. But take a deep breath and think about it...can't "Corporate" terminate my open ticket and start a new one when they are ready to service my car? The answer is, the only way to do that is to put me back to the beginning of the queue, i.e., to wait another 2-3 months. And start the same cycle I was already in!
> I have no problem per se with the people working at the Scottsdale SC per se. They are trying. They are under-siege. But they are completely overwhelmed. They are not arguing with the customers. They are pleading! And they are bound by a Lucid Corporate protocol that seem to be mindless!

Muy suggestion to you:
> if you live not too far from the SC, don't call them. Drive there and talk to the Service Manager. I don't know if he can resolve your problem. But you will at least learn what you are in for.

My GGT spent 3 1/2 weeks waiting for service. When finally pulled in, work took about 6 hours. Just got copy of the Enterprise rental that Lucid paid for. Total cost was $3,200. Multiply this by the thousands of cars in service, maybe only half with Lucid loaners and averaging 2 to 3 weeks for service and it comes to well over a million $ per month being pissed away to Enterprise. My advice - sell you Lucid stock and buy Enterprise.

My car has spend over two months in service, mostly waiting, due to factory errors and repair incompetence. It’s definitely a problem they are having. In my case almost all the time was a direct result of poor QA and poor processes and just general lack of competence. I’d wager most of their techs are new, and the training might be too. They’ve probably spent over $10,000 on rentals and shipping my car to correct even simple things like forgetting to clip the headliner back in. Super simple things that costs them probably millions overall. 🤷

It makes you wonder, how's Lucid going to scale its business!

If Lucid's cars were PERFECT and only requires annual maintenance, their current anemic/sparse service infrastructure will likely already be overwhelmed. Now, put on top of it all the issues with the new cars. And with the entry at the mid-size (Cosmo) and associated training requirements. And with some of the irrational corporate policies in service scheduling and queuing. It is the Titanic heading straight for the iceberg!

As far as Cosmo is concerned, if it is "on-schedule" {allegedly intro by EOY'26}, I see no way to beef up the SCs with the current culture and practice to be relevant! We are in May' 2026 already!

If Cosmo slips into 2027, which is more likely than not, Lucid STILL has to rapidly revamp/expand its SCs to stay relevant. That means $$$, hiring, training, culture change!

As I posted in a separate thread, Rivian has a more extensive SC network and mobile tech dispatch. Six months ago, the Rivian mobile tech who came to my CA home to do the 2-year R1S service told me he was being trained on the R2 service. And R2 hasn't started delivery yet but will be soon.

It is apparent to me Lucid will be at least a year to 1-1/2 year late to the mid-size market. If they do something stupid like the paper launch of Gravity, it will make it even worse!

I hope the new CEO takes the bull by the horn and make some radical changes soon!

My car is in at the San Jose Service Center right now.
I made a point to ask my rep if there were any changes underway, or even messaging from the top about new improvements, etc.
He just shrugged and said "not really".
They found out the same time as we did and not word from above at all.

Let's give the new CEO 30 days, two weeks from now!

I am sure you know the legendary story of the new CEO and the "3 Envelops". ;)

I do find it funny to see people use this analogy, because if the Titanic had hit the iceberg head on, it wouldn’t have sunk. It was trying to avoid it that sank it, heh.

I know that’s off topic, just a fun fact.

Anyway - of course they have to fix and scale service. That seems very obvious to any onlooker.

Yes, Lucid needs to focus on the basics of its quality (especially software) and services.

For the Titanic, "Unsinkable" was its advertising moniker. That was an important safety attribute in the early 20th Century for ocean travel. The fine print on "unsinkability" was that the Titanic would stay afloat so long as no more than 4 out of the 16 water-tight compartments were breached. On that faithful night in April, the height of ice-berg season, travelling at 22+ knots in the middle of the night, more than 5 watertight compartments were breached. And the hubrious Titanic met its fate!

Lucid has a lofty slogan as well: "Compromise Nothing!". The fine print should state: including service, realizable efficiencies in typical driving conditions, and quality of hardware/software. It is perfectly OK to set lofty, inspirational goals. But the corporate culture needs to practice what it preaches. Otherwise, it is just an advertising slogan.

I hope the new CEO will lead the way.

I'll chime in with my recent interaction. My Driver Assist doesn't seem to be working correctly and when I switch over from adaptive cruise, the driver assist is highlighted amber text. I texted customer service, it took a couple hours to respond but they apologized for the delay, asked a few questions (like did you reboot, let it sleep overnight) and said I needed to go to a service center. (I asked about the amber lettering but was told that warnings come in multiple colors and that the service center would determine the problem).

She submitted a service request to the San Diego center on 4/20 and I received an email confirmation from the rep shortly afterwards stating that service would contact me in 24-48 hours to set up an appointment. I didn't receive a call so I tried calling the server center on 4/24. They didn't answer so I left a message asking for a call back. As of today, I have not received any communication.

Reading through the forum, I am not surprised although I am disappointed. It's hard to blame service, and I'm sure they get an earful everyday from customers that are irate to have spent alot on their cars and can't get service. I will try again on Monday, also maybe text customer service again. It's an hour drive to the service center otherwise, I'd do it in person.

From a marketing standpoint these are just aspirational slogans

Even Mercedes says “the best or nothing”. My favorite slogan by far-but I bought a BMW because right now Mercedes is the best of nothing!

Hi Flex,
I just turned in my AirGT and drove home with my new Gravity 3 days ago. While in the process of trading in and choosing my new GGT, I mentioned to the salesman that my Air had a number of different warnings that would come up here and there. I actually had them check for my front camera once when it was in for something else, and they couldn't find anything wrong. Anyways - the sales person said that the cars are very sensitive and put out more warnings or notices of this and that, and that they then go away on their own.
So my suggestion is, try and check the lights out in the evening and see if there is actually a problem, or if it's just being overly sensitive. I hope it's the latter for you!

Slogan is appropriate, they don’t compromise in performance, range, efficiency, space.

Service and reliability is a separate issue. Just because they don’t compromise in engineering doesn’t mean everything else will be perfect. I laugh whenever someone brings up that slogan everyone they have an issue…. “ but, but, they said compromise nothing….”

You need to be realistic, not take everything literally.
Who came up with the slogan, the company or their customers? If your take is right then just make it “Compromise on some things”.

I think get out of oil is a noble goal, but a myth in our (the people who adults now) lifetime in the US.

I am a strong advocate for getting out of oil. My 2 cars are both EVs. And my son's car (hand-me-down) is a plug-in hybrid. All our cars are charged on solar. So, I practice what I believe in!

China is probably doing the most comprehensive push on that front, mostly because China doesn't have much oil reserve.

What surprised me the most was Iceland when I visited with my kids 4 years ago. They are really into EVs. They generate their electrical energy from geothermal plants. Iceland is basically a volcano!
The world is bigger than the US. And getting out of oil is inevitable, eventually. KSA wants to be leading in “the future,” and are more than happy to sell oil in the present.

Also, Iceland is like infinite volcanos lol. I hiked one of them when it was erupting. It was pretty wild.

Hmm... did the ground feel warm? In Hawaii, it's amazing how dangerously close you can get to active volcanoes

Great pics! One of the vocanos in Iceland also exploded while we were there. But the authories did not let us go near it.

Please keep this thread on topic about service. Lucid finances, oil and volcanoes should not be posted here!

@Adnillien are you sure @borski wasn't making a sly analogy between service and exploding volcanoes??!! 🤣🤣🤣

OK I'll give myself a 🧦

Got a cracked windshield and the crack is getting longer by the day. Service is completely unresponsive to multiple attempts via multiple channels...phone, sms, multiple emails, voice mails, the phone just connects to VM and can't speak to a real person. Extremely frustrating...not seen it this bad the last 3 years I had the car ... Things should be improving with time..this isn't that...very frustrating

Sad, but probably true!

Lucid better step up to the plate! Time is running out!
