I called Lucid Customer Care on 4/9 to report a red warning "Right front light malfunction. Call Customer Care". They were very helpful and sent it on to the Scottsdale service center for follow-up.
Crickets.
On 4/22 I get a call from the service center telling me that the next available appointment is 6/23. I asked if a mobile tech could perhaps fix it. The service center said they'd check and call me back the next day before noon.
Crickets.
Still waiting for that call from a week and half ago.
Do I no longer drive at night? Do I attach a flashlight to the right front headlight if I do? I expected more from Lucid. They should rename where cars get fixed to the "Maybe Service Someday Center."
I just had my car serviced at the Scottsdale SC.. The short version: I scheduled my 2022 AGT for the 3yr Annual Service A (the light duty one) in Dec 2025, 4 months ago. In the past, this would have been a same-day service. I took the car in 2 weeks ago, on Apr. 20. I was told it will take 2 weeks to get to my car. They gave me a free Enterprise loaner. So, last Thursday (Apr 30), I went to the Scottsdale SC and ask if my car will be ready on Friday. The answer was, it might take another 2 weeks before we get to it! I asked to speak to the Service Manager. He said my service (A) is relatively simple and he will see what he can do to expedite it. He did. I picked up my car yesterday (Friday), after it sat at the Scottsdale SC for 2 weeks. And Lucid paid for a 2-week Enterprise rental for me.
Here is my learning:
> I've been serving my AGT at Scottsdale SC since Oct 2022. Until recently, I found them to be very good and usually turn my car around the same day. The only exception was, they kept my car for 2 weeks back in 2022 to replace the Wunderbox and battery because of a charging problem.
> The Scottsdale SC Service Manager told me they are fully staffed (over 30 people) and unaffected by the recent layoffs. That said, I don't recognize any of the people at the Scottsdale SC. Maybe the number of bodies are the same, but they were not the same people I dealt with for the first 2-1/2 years I owned the car.
>When I challenged the Scottsdale SC manager why can't I keep my car until they are ready and I can bring it in on short notice. I live 4 miles from the SC. He told me if he releases the car to me, my appointment is thereby cancelled, and everything has to start from scratch again. Why? He said it is a corporate process and cited the law about Lucid is legally liable for my car when there is an open service ticket. Maybe that's true. But take a deep breath and think about it...can't "Corporate" terminate my open ticket and start a new one when they are ready to service my car? The answer is, the only way to do that is to put me back to the beginning of the queue, i.e., to wait another 2-3 months. And start the same cycle I was already in!
> I have no problem per se with the people working at the Scottsdale SC per se. They are trying. They are under-siege. But they are completely overwhelmed. They are not arguing with the customers. They are pleading! And they are bound by a Lucid Corporate protocol that seem to be mindless!
Muy suggestion to you:
> if you live not too far from the SC, don't call them. Drive there and talk to the Service Manager. I don't know if he can resolve your problem. But you will at least learn what you are in for.
