My guess is that the GT wheels are designed with smaller holes which do not necessitate removing covers, which is great actually
The more covered the better for range. The more open the better for brake cooling. The performance model already has a range hit. The inserts make the rim more aerodynamic. For my commute it doesn’t matter. For a road trip depending on speed the inserts might add 2-5% or looking at it the other way around you lose 2-5 % with them off.So I see the wheels on the GT are “open” revealing the brake disc and calipers to some extent. Makes me wonder why the openings aren’t covered like on the Dream If that’s important for range and cooling??
I missed your post before posting. Your rims are cleaner. We are having some much needed rain in San Diego. The Pirellis are pretty good in the rain. We’ll see how many miles we get out of them. So far very impressed with the tire.The Dream wheels have aero caps which can be removed or left on.

What PPF/ceramic are you going with? I've been debating between XPEL and STEK for PPF and unsure on ceramic.So how hard is it to put the covers back on once you take them off? Reason I’m asking is because I am going to have the Dream treated with PPF and ceramic coating and as part of the treatment they also ceramic coat the wheels. So for that I would want to remove the covers but will probably leave them on afterwards.

My local guy uses Xpel Ultimate. I had it with Ceramic Pro on my Porsche and both were great. Got hit with a rock at 80 mph and it put a small hole in the film but didn’t even touch the paint. Now my guy is still recommending the Expel Ultimate but says he is getting better results with FeynLab Heal Lite for the ceramic coating. He can do either Ceramic Pro or FeynLab but he says the FeynLab has better shine/gloss and improved hydrophobic properties. Are you going to have them install any window tinting on any of the windows? I have used both Xpel & Ceramic coating (Full Wrap) on my Mercedes-Benz GLE and really love it. I can now use a waterless car wash process myself in about 15-20 mins. I will definitely PPF/Ceramic coat on the AGT, however, I’m not sure about tinting, I really like it but it may be difficult on the Air. Interesting… the salesman at the Torrance studio had a customer on another vehicle type actually put PPF on the outer windows instead of tinting, I‘m not sure of that idea.The 2 places I took it to for tinting, refused the back window due to no space between the glass and the rear platform.
My wife now likes the Grey. I had originally confirmed my order with the grey, changed it to silver at her request. Now after seeing it, she wants me to change it back to the Grey. What she really liked is not an option for any trim. She really wanted the Santa Monica interior (Dream only) with the Grey (Grand Touring option, not on the Dream)
So did my wife. Unfortunately that interior is only on the Dreams…..Quantum Grey looks fabulous. I like Santa Monica inside though!
