Has anyone seen this , on my 4th wash and every time I get red dust mid dirt stuff dripping from somewhere in the trunk assembly

Yes, it is Arizona clay. The car accumulates that stuff sitting in parking lot of manufacturing plant.

My car took quite a while to stop bleeding dirt after a wash. It does end. Just give it more time and more washes.

One thing I’ve noticed is because of the way the trunk is designed, you must clean all around the edge of the trunk opening, up along the sides of the opening and under the rear glass. Otherwise dirt eventually makes its way to the bottom trunk lip. Even when clean, water drops tend to pool along the bottom lip.

Yes. After a wash, you need to open the trunk and let the water drain. Then close it. I find I do this two times to fully dry the car.

I love the Air, but it's the "drippiest" car I've ever owned. If washing at home I use a lawn blower to blow out the crevices in the rearview mirrors and all around the frunk and trunk lids. If washing at a carwash I try to use the suction of the vacuum cleaners (using my fingers to keep the nozzle from scratching the car). Even then, I have to open, drain, and close the frunk and trunk lids several times. And, if I'm at the carwash, I have to wipe down the trunk/bumper junction again after the drive home. It just drips, and drips . . . and drips.

The secret is never wash it 😁

Two and a half years and my car still bleeds dust around the trunk. There is always more dust getting into that area and every time I wash it more comes out. As others have said, open and close the trunk a few times and use a leaf blower.

Just the dust from the desert. It took multiple washes over a significant period time to get rid of all of the dust on my car.

I keep a microfiber cloth in the trunk. Old habit from when I had to constantly wipe off cameras after snow in Boulder. But I also use it to wipe that line of wet dirt that forms on the rear bumper after every wash. No matter how many times I open and close the trunk while drying, there's always more dirt and water in there.

that makes me wonder if it's break dust or something

ya thats what i have been doing.. it's annoying.. not loving guys saying it never really goes away

It’s not brake dust. I live off of a dirt road and my long driveway is dirt and some gravel. There is always dust accumulation in that area on my Air. I just make sure to clean and condition the trunk seals and it has done a great job of keeping the dust out of the trunk.

Lucid reached out to me and asked me to notify my service center when i take in on friday due to another issue with the vehicle. Sounds like they will clean it out for you if asked. Will let you know how it goes.

Great description, "drippiest"! I too have hand washed my cars for years and have found the Air to be the hardest to wring out dry. Still, its a nice trade for the beauty of it!
