Q1 deliveries much worse than expected

Air sales were down big in Q1. But you could also be Audi, and plenty of the other middling players down -20%+.
And they finally broke out of the other category from Polestar and Vinfast. Air #2, Model S temporary overtook it, outsold the rest of the EV sedans in the premium/luxury category.

I was about to say the same... Brand awareness is almost non-existent outside of the EV enthusiasts world. It doesn't look like the Timothee Chalamet campaign did much...
I'm sure you've all been through this, but I laugh when people ask me what car it is, I tell them is a Lucid and they feel the need to clarify "but WHO makes it?" 😂
Awareness comes with more cars on the road. I’ve noticed more of my colleagues talking about how they would like a Lucid, but don’t want to spend that much.

This is true, a lot of people like the look and say I can't afford or don't need an Air or Gravity but would certainly take a serious look at a smaller cheaper car. I agree they need to try a different marketing strategy that explains the brand before they have an ambassador. That being said, having 3 model EV lineup at the end of 2026 is quite credible, that is more than most OEMs at this point. Ford will have 1, Tesla will have 3, Rivian will have 3, Hyundai and Kia have a pretty good lineup. Toyota is expanding.

It may seem like an old horse, but don't count GM out. They are not shelving development - completely the opposite. They will be ready when the larger buying public is ready...

100%... I was very impressed by what I saw at the NY Auto Show, very impressive offerings for the px points they target

This will be a never thing. Saudi royalty know their days will be numbered if they don’t diversify from oil. And they want to move from society dependent on handouts to actually productivity.

You can’t compare LIV to manufacturing. Sports entertainment is very fickle. But manufacturing is where you grow and develop your country.

To give up now after spending 9.5 billion is lunacy.
$9.5 billion to the PIF is basically what you find in the couch cushions after a strong quarter at Saudi Aramco. 😂

Since this has veered off to discuss the competition, the Mercedes CLA 250+ EV sedan (the 350+ is the same car with AWD), just arriving in the U.S. is turning a lot of heads in Europe and especially the U.K. The reviews in the U.K. have been very favorable. The base model is only $48K and fully loaded 55K. It's about the size of a Tesla 3, but with every creature comfort available a Lucid Air (massage seats are an option). It even matches or exceeds the range of an Air Touring. This is the price range Lucid should have aimed for with a downsized version of the Air.

Both Mercedes and BMW have totally new EV platforms on which to base an entire range of vehicles. While Lucid contemplates the Cosmos the factories in Germany are busy.

My buddy lost his house this way on a previous hot Saudi stock tip called PCS Edventures back in the day
This is different, I don’t know why you don’t get it and don’t care. Constantly complaining. If you don’t want to buy the stock, don’t! No need to keep on replying to my optimism about the company. If you want to short it, go ahead and be my guest. I’m buying , never selling and people like you will never change my mind!

Dude you constantly bash Lucid decision making I can’t decide if you shorted them or what!! I’m referring only to the HELOC for investing on risky stocks. Don’t do that!

Good lead! Lucid better watch out! Competition, especially the Germans, and Volvo, are right on top of Lucid. At this time, Lucid simply does have the reach to sell-to and service the mid-market. I think it is irrelevant what Lucid's offerings are in the mid-size. The showroom/SC network is anemic, and the recent performance of the SC's are terrible. It does not engender better things to come for Lucid.

European cycle is more generous with range. Less space. Handling would be as good as Lucid. But agree, competition is coming.

Just because I bash leadership, doesn’t mean I’m not bullish. I’m holding a decade. I’m not here to trade or make a quick buck.

Actually, Volvo EVs not very good. Massive software issues. Range very poor.

The only German EV that looks good is the Taycan. Mercs are blobs, Audi has lost the plot. BMW still ugly. IMO

Good advice!
And I want to clarify, they were not a Saudi company, but everybody went all in because they thought they were going to be. In the end, the Saudi did not use their services in the company collapsed. If my buddy had not taken an equity out of his house to do this he would still have. So yeah, the Saudi connection was not quite what it looked like when I said it.
