There is nothing magical about a Faraday cage: it's just metal blocking em signal...doesn't even have to be solid = you just need a metal mesh surrounding the thing you are blocking. This works fine. Try it and see. Just a piece big enough to wrap the fob is all it takes.

Yes holding the key fob to your head increases it's range.

Anyone going to the total eclipse next year? I'm planning on going to Erie, PA or upper NY near the lakes. Should not be missed !
