Pirelli Tire Issue & Warranty Megathread

Tire Rack has the correct tires in stock and can ship to you or your local installer. Tire Rack is very competent. Tire rack.com And Discount Tire now owns Tire Rack.
Tire rack is great. Of note, if you purchase from Discount Tire / America’s Tire, the installation is free. If you purchase from Tire Rack, you can ship it anywhere, including AT/DT, but installation is an additional cost.

Yes, it’s stupid - but it’s true. :)

And for those who don’t know, DT/AT are the same company, and you’re correct that they own TireRack.

Are you sure tire install is free at Discount Tire, even if you buy their tires? I don't think so. At least in Colorado. The DT online cart shows install and balance as $25 ea. In a recent post, some members got free install at DT by mentioning they are Costco members, where install is free - price matching.

Regardless. Both DT and Tire Rack are quality vendors.

Nothing is really "free."
The price can be jacked up to make up for the difference, and businesses don't typically match Costco price using the pretext that this is membership store.
So one way or the other, they will sell us at whatever price they deem appropriate for their bottom line, and that's their prerogative.
A side story: dealership just replaced the front tires in my wife's car Friday. Saturday, I checked the pressure and guess what: they put on wrong tires. Hers is all-season, and what's on the car now is summer tires. Somebody probably checked the wrong box when ordering the tires. Attention to details is sadly lacking here.
Onto a trip back to the dealership next week.

Omg, as my wife says, it's always something. No matter what I tell the excellent installers at DT, the TP is never correct. The following morning I always recheck all tires

If you buy them in-store, it was free for install, last time I got tires.

But I agree, any of the above are great and I’d go with the cheapest.
