I'll have to go look again but I thought the one I test drove at the studio here didn't have the hooks either.

Amazing, that looks more finished without the notches. Does the 2nd row still have the tracks on the floor for sliding the seats forward? Or is it like the promo pics that eliminates those for the 5 seater? That's another aspect of the 5 seat design that seemed unfinished to me.

2nd row still has tracks and also the button for easy entry to 3rd row. The button works and moves the seats forward.

In my photos the seat is all the way back, yes.

The indentations surprised me too but only because they look unfinished but so does the gap so…

I’m glad I got the 5 seat option because I had a third row in the past and never used it but not in love with how the finished product looks. It just doesn’t look finished.

I’m now in the same boat. Didn’t want seven seats but the gap actually pisses me off. Coming from the model X, it had a continuous solid floor when all was folded down. Picked up my five seater yesterday in Chicago. It’s a beautiful machine. So far only a few software quirks and the key fob and card are working as intended. But that gap. I do not know what to do about it nor do I want to fabricate some piece of wood to go in there. There needs to be an elegant solution created by Lucid. Or at the very least WeatherTech or some other entity that engineer is it properly. I’d buy it. I don’t like the idea of going on a camping trip and having the dog or other things tumble into that space. Not a good situation.

Lucid has said in the past they will produce a cover for that gap.

Hopefully, some kind of hinged cover, maybe even with lock, would be good.

Our 5-seater X has a shallow, deeper area but not directly in back of the 2nd row seats. By default its covered and the rear trunk cover has two positions, one of which lines up with the shallow area cover, other other position lines up with the shallow area itself. In that latter position you have a step up to the area right behind the 2nd row seats, which actually makes the space mostly useless. When we're packing stuff, we find thin things to put under that cover, but consider it mostly bonus space.

BTW, the rear trunk cover on our '23 X just a board with "carpet" (really a heavy felt) that sits in place. If you lift it up trying to hinge off the front edge, there's nothing to hold it up, and actually most of the time it slips off the little ledges at the corners and falls in at an angle. It's a nightmare and we curse it every time.

Capturing a sleek car like that in photos would totally show off its solid handling and design. I’ve been getting into photography to snap cool stuff like cars, and I found this neat article on https://skylum.com/blog/national-photography-day . Dealing with those awkward trunk gaps and flimsy covers is a total nightmare when you're trying to pack gear securely. I’ve had the same struggle with my '23 X; that "carpeted board" feels more like a loose puzzle piece than a functional trunk. Since I’m often on the road with my camera gear, I’ve had to get creative with how I wedge everything in. I actually picked up some solid tips on streamlining my mobile setup from https://skylum.com/blog/why-luminar-is-the-best-tool-for-travel-photographers, which helped me rethink my gear management. If you can fit some soft bags under those ledges, it might finally stop that cover from falling in!

That board is a nightmare mine falls into the gap every time I load the car too
