Photos (or Video) of the 5-Seat Gravity Cargo Area?

Does it have the same sliding mechanism as the 3 row? The configurator shows a different mechanism (no slides in the 2nd row footwell).
They definitely skimped on make parts for the 5 seat (e.g. the moulding still had indents for the 3rd row mounts).
The 2nd row does move forward and backward, if that is what you are asking and I posted a photo (in the accessories thread) of the footwell for the 2nd row. That isn't the issue for me. I am just not in love with behind the 2nd row, it just looks unfinished. For $120k I would like it to look finished. Had I known, I may have gotten the 3rd row but too late now and I do love the vehicle so I will just choose to get over that. :)

Completely different from the 3rd row

Here it is folded flat and it does go completely flat...with a gap.
Man, my shop vac is going to be quite busy vacuuming dog hair out of the back of the Gravity - just saying as it is giving me anxiety just looking at your pictures. I had the same reaction a couple of weeks ago driving around in my friend's GDE #46. Looks awesome except for the space behind the 2nd row.

I was referring to the picture in the configurator showing no slides on the 5 seat configuration. It looks like the sliding mechanism is currently the same for both 5 and 7 seat configurations. I guess they haven't finished making parts for the 5 seat.
Oh, I see. Yeah, I think you’re right. I have also heard rumors of an accessory to fill the gap between 2nd and 3rd row, enabling a perfectly flat bed, but don’t quote me on that.

I'm slightly surprised that the indentations for securing the 3rd row are still there. Given how emphatically it's been stated that the third row cannot be added back in, I'd sort of assumed the latch points would be plugged and look like just part of the flat surface in the 5 seat model.

I'm also very surprised. I was told the same that it won't be possible to add 3rd row + the renders in the configurator show no 2nd row tracks or mounting holes/indentation for 3rd row seats. Now I'm curious whether renders are incorrect or if it's a one off 5-seater made on 7-seater "platform".

Unclear. I would add that a third row is *still* unable to be added later; at least that is what Lucid seems to be sticking with.

That's obviously a business decision, not an engineering one. I say zero chance that the unibody is different between the two models.
I suppose there could be a totally different wiring harness that would be very difficult to replace but I doubt it.

What does the sub trunk look like?

I hope that comes to fruition.

Had a demo drive today (yes, had a blast) and was also told that Lucid was working on an accessory for the gap area. It could just be sales talk but this is the first year of a new model, bugs will be fixed.

I asked my SA and they had no idea. I hope it happens but either way, love my new car!

Hmm...it doesn't matter too much to me, but it's a little disappointing that Lucid took the cheapest/easiest way out to config the 5 seater...by just removing the seats and safety belts and that's it. I get it...but wish I forever didn't need to answer the inevitable question from people looking in the back "what are those 4 holes for? 3rd row of seats?" lol

I think the way Lucid has finished the 5-seat version looks like crap, especially the unfinished cutouts in the carpet. It is well below Lucid's finish standards.

Should have at least a clip in plastic piece to cover the mounting point.

They should have a replacement for the motor cover where those cutouts are that also has a flap to cover the gap...a gap flap. ;-) That would kill two birds with one stone, but I doubt it will happen.

Maybe that would have prevented them from getting the nice round 120cf cargo volume. 🤣
I'm on the fence between 5 seat and 7 seat and this definitely pushes me towards 7 seat. I could just remove the 3rd row and get the same look...

For those of us who don't want the third row, I'm hoping that some company will step up and make a cargo floor mat that addresses at least some of the problems. As a dog owner, I don't really want carpet in the cargo area, as that's hard to keep clean. I'd rather have some smooth surface cargo mat. That would also cover the third-row notches. I'd need be, I'll fabricate my own solution that covers the floor and closes up a lot of the gap behind the 2nd row, but I'd be happy to pay someone for a solution that saves me the headache of solving the problem myself.

I'm sure you can find plenty of solutions, though I wish we didn't have to. Here is one: https://www.canvasback.com/

I'd guess they make something that can work. Hopefully they and others start making various accessories for the Gravity. So far, I've seen very few (maybe none) mentions. Hopefully we can get sun shades, liners, etc. soon that are made for the Gravity.
