Not totally surprising. I've found limits are unrealistically low in the East and speeding (for most demographics) is tolerated. While in the West limits are much more reasonable (higher) but speeding is more strictly enforced. It is also less necessary due to the higher limits.

And they're going to do another video of the return trip from Seattle back to Denver. Same car, different route.

I wonder if they'll ever do a trip from Boston to Los Angeles. We could be talking a miniseries.
