Herein lies the problem. Both AA and Apple CarPlay in the context of EV's lies in the expectation that automakers like Lucid will simply grant access to their systems to Apple and Google, allowing them to provide that information. However, very few automakers, such as Ford and Porsche, have complied with this request. While security is no doubt somewhat of a concern, the most probable reason is that data is highly valuable, and most companies would prefer to retain it for their own use rather than sharing it with others.
These systems, particularly navigation systems, are therefore problematic for EVs. They cannot create proper routing plans that include charging stops. Even if they can make guesses, they are useless if they cannot access the car’s efficiency data in real time. It's also why I believe we will never see mass adoption of CarPlay Ultra like Apple intended it to be used.
