Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

OK, so today was delivery day
Recap of my timeline
Order Confirmation August 3, 2022
VIN received September 9, 2022
Delivery September 19, 2022
Stellar White on Tahoe
GT-P

Delivery took about 75 minutes
My DA, Edward was very familiar with the delivery checklist
He brought the car out front, so no taking the cover off with oohs and aahs.
The only issue was about an inch of plastic wrap left on the passenger A pillar and some glue on the drive A pillar, both toward where the pillars meet the hood. A tech came our and cleaned both areas off, never a fan when they bring a razor blade but thing are ok.
I found the build quality to be quite good.
Very cool how the rear side shades go up and down using the regular switches, essentially a second function.
The massaging seats really do a lot, never had that function in a car before.
Was able to get Pandora playing through my phone, no problem.
The bigger iPhones with cases do not fit in the slot so the wireless charging function can't be utilized.
There is a crazy amount to learn.
Pairing my phone was quite quick, the Homelink appeared to be set but did not work one home , likely due to the age/lack of features of my garage door opener.
The key thing was learning how to fold the mirrors as getting it into my garage is a tight fit.
I didn't receive an email from Lucid beforehand with the link to set up Tidal, my DA will send that.
Driving home was amazing, only scratched the power of this thing, so smooth and so willing to get going.
The regen braking is much more active than I expected, you really are in a one pedal driving car.
Handling and ride are splendid.
I was surprised about how much I had to lean down to enter the car (I know many of you have messaged around that).

Off topic, while I was being shown the features, my DA mentioned that the guy who walked by was Zac Edson.
Good to see the leadership is making the effort to see operations first hand.
My DA says they are doing 6-12 deliveries a day.

Other follow up
i did not see a Silver one at the Goose Island facility
 
Home Delivery vs. PICKING UP AT SHOWROOM

I was told by my DA that they are still doing home delivery BUT it takes longer. They need to find the truck and driver and delivery specialist to actually do the delivery and that can take time. But they prefer pick up because they can bang them out faster without the added expense. (Obviously).
 
Next trivia item
The GT-P is being sold as having 1050 HP
Recall that the DE-P has 1111 HP

My Maroney Sticker for the GT-P mentions 1111 HP

For the tracker: Took delivery at home today. See signature below for timeline.

I was offered a plane ticket and hotel stay to fly to Chicago to pick up my car, but I declined. Tyler from the Oak Brook Studio flew to Minneapolis and then drove 90 minutes to my home. The covered trailer traveled separately, had two cars and arrived early. The second car was scheduled for later today back in Edina (suburb of Minneapolis).

No build issues whatsoever. SOC was 100% with about 20 miles on the odometer. Software version 1.2.185 (the latest AFAIK). Tyler had not done the HomeLink set up before and that took two tries before it worked. One minor issue setting up the Home address setting as our neighborhood is pretty new and was not recognized. It took only a few minutes to get the hang of one pedal driving and went for a spin - an amazing ride.

Maybe Bears workshop can expand their efforts to include some key hubs

Got my VIN yesterday. Picking Mal up today! I think this was a car that someone else passed on, sounds like they just happened to have it suddenly available. 15 mins away from seeing her for the first time in Costa Mesa!

Time to see the X and 3!
