I didn’t even consider personalizing it. But now I regret not adding something profane just to scandalize my wife.

When I want to lock it, I press the handle as I leave, and again as I return to open. At home, if I let it just sit then sleep on its own it’ll depress the handle, but I can push it to enter without Phone or Fob if I want to grab something from the car.

Pushing the handle works about 60-70% of the time. I know it will work when I see a yellow LED flash near the left air vent after I push the handle.

When it does not work, I just push the key FOB button and the horn honks. Then pushing the handle works. My guess is if I got very close and stayed there longer until the NFC registered, pushing the handle would work more often.

If you have the fob out, just click it twice to unlock the car.

Yeah, for me at least (‘22 DE with the CCCv2 upgrade), it’s been extremely stable. HFDA works fantastically too. Very useful on long drives when I want to hold @TribbleTrouble ‘s hand (shut up, it’s almost our anniversary, I’m trying to win points)

Borski-man, don't forget the chocolates, flowers, an extravagant dinner out & the little blue box from Tiffany's. When I have to really score points with my important partner, I'd rather err on the side of a little overkill. I find it lengthens the time until someone collects on my life insurance :)

I am new to the EV market. The 3x per week long commute (27 miles one way) is a strong incentive, and weekend road trips to BC is another (based out of Seattle).

I've always like Lucid, but entry price has been a blocker. Lately though, I start seeing AWD Pre-owned Air get into price point that are quite attractive. If I may ask questions to all the experienced Lucid owners here:

1. Based on what I read, a lot of SW bugs have been fixed, and having an older MY does not preclude it from getting the updates? Is that true?
2. On pre-owned market, I've been looking mostly at CPO cars, but there are quite a few listing out there that are non-Lucid posted. For those non-Lucid sourced cars, how do they get SW updates, or even HW updates? Does Lucid service centers have options for owners to bring their cars in - and get upgrades done (whether it is HW or SW) at a cost?
3. A good friend of ours have Tesla Model X, and he's one of the original adopter of FSD - and that ADAS seems really nice for long road trips and whatnot. Is Dream Drive Pro an equivalent for it yet - or if not, is there even a plan from Lucid to get it to that level?
4. I am still torn between buy vs lease - curious to hear y'all opinions and considerations? I know that this is a personal decision - but still interested to hear from anybody.
5. When I grew up - reliable cars = Honda or Toyota (or their brethren brands), so the idea of new EV CHR and BZ are appealing (from reliability POV) but pre-owned Pure price is not too far - and yes, they are not apples to apples AT ALL, but with all the latest SW updates and whatnot - has Lucid reached a state that's stable enough where ownership experience is good (as in problem free, in a sense that I need an EV that works taking me from point A to B all the time).

Would appreciate hearing all kinds of opinions from all the experienced owners here.

I have a ‘23 Air GT and have had ZERO problems with it. I owned Teslas prior to this and my Model Ss had similar sluggish key recognition and need for occasional reboots. I just did the CCC v2 upgrade, and though I don’t notice much difference, I’m happy to be able to continue on the OTA upgrade path for a while longer.
We also have 2 Gravities - my wife’s here jn the PNW and another at our condo in the SW. they are delightful to drive, and since 3.5.1 they’ve been trouble-free except for needing the occasional reboot.

But, we’ve been lucky - I’m sure you’ve read the posts from people who have had less stellar experiences.

Also, the current service situation is quite off-putting. Very long wait times to get appointments and once your vehicle is checked in at the SC, it might be 2-3 weeks before anyone even looks at it. They really need to announce and implement a plan to shore up and expend the service network.

Thanks. I know, and dot dash = trunk open. But I have a hard time with the FOB timing (maybe because I have Morse Code experience) so am very unreliable in sending complex FOB signals. Pushing the handle is just easier for me. Steve

Stupid q: Is there such a thing as Lucid Air Pure w/ AWD? I asked since I see listings on Cargurus. To my recollection, all Pure are RWD.

My understanding is that early model years of the Pure had AWD, but more recently do not. I think they were trying to establish more clear product differentiation between the Pure and the Touring. I see on the Lucid available vehicles page, there are pre-owned 2023 Air Pures listed with AWD, but all the 2024s are RWD, so I'm guessing that's the year they changed.

I now think you are right; Gemini set me straight saying 2023 was dual motor later discontinued. Mea culpa but I also learned something.

LOL ... I use Gemini a lot as well .... part of daily life at the office now.

Other question:
Lucid - and generally other SW-defined cars are quite different than the legacy car companies - is the concept of doing pre-purchase inspection still apply? If yes - where does one get it done? At Lucid svc center? Or is it simply applying a checklist (like where it's posted in the forum somewhere)?

How do we check also if all recalls and TSBs (are there TSBs for Lucids?) are done?

Long time ago I bought an XKR - and all above were part of my due diligence, but w new EVs like this, what are the equivalents of this dilligence?
 
Speaking of fobs, does anyone know if there are plans to include apple watch to open the vehicle like Tesla has done? It is great not having to lug your phone around everywhere.
