I got a new iPhone and I can't establish the mobile key connection. It connects to the car fine for Apple play, etc... I talked to support for 30 minutes but nothing accomplished.

Same for me even with existing iPhone. Suddenly the mobile key stopped working and can’t set it up, shows error even after removing the key.

Delete the existing mobile key from the car then make a new one.

I would hope CS covered that guidance during the 30 min call...but if not, and it fixes the situation then they should be brought up to speed. I know you've provided that guidance in your posts here and your videos for a LONG time now, and that it's solved a lot of situations where mobile key is otherwise inop.

Like someone suggested I had to delete my old phone in the vehicle and add my new one and it worked fine.

Thanks Bobby ! I had tried removing the phone from the car before but it was not letting me add the phone back. But today I went into my iPhone and removed Lucid from BT from my phone by removing device and then tried connecting with the car and it worked!

Same case happened with me when tried to remove to phone from the car. It didn't let me do it. Followed your steps and it worked. Thanks CA.

If your new iPhone isn't linked for Mobile Key Access Make sure Bluetooth and NFC are enabled. Check for software updates. Reset network settings or repair equipment If the problem persists Please contact customer support. Because this may be a compatibility error.
This sounds like an answer from ChatGPT! Let’s clear things up: yes, Bluetooth needs to be enabled on the phone. NFC has nothing to do with it. Software update shouldn’t matter because mobile key is compatible with prior versions. There’s no need to reset network settings or do equipment repairs in 99% of cases. Simply remove the key from the phone and the phone from the car and re-pair everything.

This becomes more of a problem if you don't have your old phone.

I had the same issue when trying to remove my phone from the car. It wouldn’t budge no matter what I tried. After following the steps shared by CA, everything worked perfectly! The solution was simple and effective. Huge thanks to CA for the helpful guidance and saving the day.
