Oh wow the headlights fill the cabin with this loud shrieking (to me) electronic whine!! This is crazy there’s no way I could live with that. They need to fix that. Lights off it’s nice and silent tho.

The HVAC fans also sound like a rumble sometimes is that normal?

There’s also a kind of almost grinding whirring sound at low speed maybe brake regen?

Frunk takes two tries to open 🤣

Weirdness aside, this doesn’t feel like a minivan at all this feels like a hot rod. I would never be able to get over the headlight noise for any price but I’d that doesn’t bother someone I think it’s a solid contender in the 70s.

Frosted glass center console is sick too what a cool idea.

Squircle steering wheel was awkward for all of two minutes now I think I might prefer it.

Never noticed any noise from headlights or any excessive noise from the HVAC.

Our frunks were balky at first but have since rectified in both vehicles.

I've repeated this a dozen times, but Jason Cammisa of Hagerty said that the Gravity raises the question of whether sports cars are becoming obsolete. He was spot on.

Our Tesla Plaid yoke? Hated it, hated it, hated it. But that Lucid squircle? Love it, love it, love it. It's amazing how much difference leading with an analysis of function (one of Lucid's true strengths) can make in a car instead of leading with an edgy design conceit (one of Tesla's recurring weak points).

It’s weird that this car doesn’t have dash lighting tho. Like its whole ambiance inside is really lame for its price point. I get it’s different goals but to come to market with a 6 figure SUV this…spartan…on features is going to be hard to mass market.

I did notice: Creep works!! Like it’s supposed to! On the Air it just doesn’t and never has.

A bit odd that it doesn’t hold your personalized drive mode settings though. Why? Fix that.

Yeah, I was surprised at how immediately natural the squircle is. Lucid really nailed it with that one. The only other vehicle I've driven that gave me such a good view of the all the instrumentation on the dash was school bus I used to drive, and the acceleration was no good on that! Better cargo space, though. 🤣 Everything else has always had one thing or another obscured by the steering wheel.

I never want a non-squircle steering wheel again! It's fantastic! My favorite part is it isn't rocket science - just someone in design thought "what can I do to make the Clearview cockpit easier to read?" It's the "yoke", perfected!

I had the opposite reaction when the Gravity was first previewed. With so much visual acreage already lit by the upper and lower screens, I felt that any dashboard lighting would be too distracting or even obtrusive. (The MB EQS had debuted shortly before, and its interior looked like a casino marquee.)

While my concern was alleviated by the dashboard lighting turning off when the car is put in gear (at least when it works properly), I still prefer the more subtle use of interior lighting in the Air (which has no dashboard lighting at all, except between the ends of the dashboard and the door panels.)

We discussed this a long time ago on an Air thread. It turns out that EPA regulations require that a car return to its most efficient settings upon start-up; hence Lucids default to "Smooth" mode.

What I wish is that you could automatically gang the ride height settings you prefer to the drive mode you select. For instance, except when getting out of the car next to a curb, I always want our Gravities in the low suspension setting no matter what the drive mode. Even if Lucid won't go that far, I wish the default height for the "Swift" setting (which I use most often) was Low instead of Standard.

While it might marginally improve handling, my real reason is that I think the Gravity looks cooler and a bit meaner at the low height.

That might be a cable detachment issue instead of a software issue. I've had a couple of cables detach in our Lucids, and it's usually something a mobile tech can handle. I'd give Customer Service a call on this one.

But the Air does save your regen settings. The Gravity you have to change it each time.

??? Our Gravities always stay on High Regen, where we prefer them.

High coil whine on PCs are usually because of uncapped FPS and the components getting overworked. I wonder what the issue is with the headlights, and if it can be easily fixed by lowering the PWM flicker rate (effectively the FPS of the LED headlights) in software or will require complete different hardware.
