New accelerator curve?

So I don't know when it started exactly as I went out of town, but maybe the last update or the one before that.

But the regen is not predictable anymore.

I have moments when I will accelerate, and when I completely take my foot off the accelerator, I expect full regen.. But it coasts? It didn't use to do this and I am having to use my brakes way more to stop the car and I hate it.

Any setting to go back to how it was?

It's the same in all drive modes, just coasting less, but overall it's unpredictable. And it isn't immediately when I start driving, the battery isn't cold. It happens well into the drive on the freeway as well.
 
Noticed that as well. My mileage per kw has decreased also
 
Up to date as far as software.
 
What is your state of charge? Is regen set to high?
 
Same issue. I charge to 80%. I thought my regen was on a lower default. It is not the same as prior to the latest update. Air Pure AWD - 1 year old 12,000 miles.
 
I have the same issue as well. I'm on v2.5.0. My state of charge is at 80% and my regen set to high. Any thoughts?
 
I've noticed this as well, not sure if it's software or cold. Any state of charge....if most people are not experiencing it, then it must be cold.

For people NOT experiencing it...what it feels like is when you take your foot off the accelerator, it feels as you have regen in standard mode, then after about 2-3 seconds it switches to max regen in the middle of decel.
 
I haven't noticed any actual feel difference in regen. But when I charge to 80% now, I often get the "Regen diminished" warning for the first few minutes of my drive. I wonder if it's related?

In my 2025 pure (2.5.3), Standard Mode is the maximum Regen. The lower mode is called Low. But I do also notice the odd transient in decelleration.

I haven't received that warning ever, and I'm always plugged in. And it's even on longer drives when I am on the highway for several minutes, the battery is already warm.

I believe the warning itself is a relatively new software feature.

What you're describing is normal for low temperature or high state of charge. It's not that it switches from low to high after 2-3 seconds. The battery charger is accepting a relatively constant amount of power from the motors whether you're at 80mph or 10mph, which feels like a deceleration curve rather than even deceleration like you're used to. You'll feel the same even when regen is working at its best if you drive very fast, then take your foot completely off the accelerator.

To put it another way, driving with friction brakes, you've learned to naturally let up on the brake as you come to a stop to make it a smooth stop. Regen braking (if you completely take your foot off the accelerator) is like stepping on that pedal with the same force the whole way through. When your battery is almost full or cold, that force is less than when it's below 80% and warm, so you feel the effect of the deceleration curve more at lower speeds rather than higher speeds.

You can reduce the weird lurch feeling with limited regen by learning to feather the accelerator while slowing down. If you take your foot fully off the pedal you'll feel a point where it almost "catches" - the 2-3 seconds in feeling you mentioned. Put your foot back down to match it, then you can bring it to a smooth stop like normal. Do that a few times and you'll probably get a feel for it. If you need to stop sooner, take your foot off the accelerator, switch to the brake, wait for the catch, then switch back to bring it to a smooth stop.

I do wish we had well executed blended braking to make it truly one pedal drive regardless of temperature or SOC. The hardware is there for it, maybe a future update will offer that.

It will tell you when regen is limited due to cold as well, though only past a certain threshold. If you look at the Charge/Power meter on your dash, it has a (admittedly very discrete) white arc starting at the top center and curving towards the bottom left. That shows at what point regen will max out. It's hard to describe, but it makes sense when you know to look for it and match it up with the drive feeling.
