Hi - I have had my car since mid-December. I have a very narrow garage entryway. I want to fold the mirrors in as I enter, but I can tap the screen 5 times and it does nothing on the sixth it works. Then it automatically opens them in a few seconds - anyone else deal with this issue?

I have to tap mine twice. Never works on the first tap.

I usually have to hit it twice. But every now and then that's not needed, and hitting the button twice (which I do by habit) I see the mirrors start to fold, then go back out. The lack of consistency is more annoying than having to double-press the button.

Hi, @Jordan.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I just sent you a DM.

My bet is it’s queueing the taps, and then executing them all at once while it catches up, which is why you see it pop in and then out again.

Try tapping once and waiting? I’m not saying that’s great, btw, just curious to diagnose

It appears to me that you have to be at 0 mph for the mirror folding to work. Anyone else experience this?

Same here. You have to be stopped for it to work and then it folds open to quickly before you get into your garage ,unless you are crawling below 5 mph.

You should be able to fold the mirrors without having to first stop the car and the mirrors should not unfold until you go at least 10 mph.

From the manual:

NOTE: You cannot fold/unfold the mirrors when the vehicle’s speed is greater than or equal to 10mph / 16 kmph. Folded mirrors will automatically unfold once the vehicle’s speed is greater than 10 mph / 16 kmph.

That’s accurate in my experience. Drive slower.

Drive slower!! Hard to do in my Lucid GT. LOL.

My experience is that I have to be at zero to retract mirrors, but they do unfold at 9+. Any suggestions? I have brought this to the attn of Lucid many times. I would like to be able to roll in at 10 mph or less and fold on the fly vs having to come to a complete stop. Thanks, you are always a wealth of info re Lucid.

They will stay folded until 10 mph, but you can't actually fold them until 0 mph.

Dunno how you guys back out of the garage with the mirrors folded in. I tried it got about halfway then nope nope

I have to be very careful to keep my speed down while parking. Sort of annoying, I’d like more control. What if I need to retract mirrors urgently, not an option. If they’d let me retract at 15-20 mph and pop out at 15-20 I think I’d be happy.

Drive slower, and watch your speed. No need to rush out of the garage. :)

Honestly, I’m not sure, as I don’t use the feature that often. I’ve mostly only tried it to see whether it worked or not.

If you monitor how you pull in, and do so in essentially a straight line, then backing out is simply a matter of putting the car in reverse and slowly going straight back. I do it all the time on my GV60P with the mirrors folded. What I find much harder, in my cluttered garage, is backing into the garage. So I generally drive straight in and out the same way.

I’ve occasionally tucked my mirrors in while backing out and never had an issue with them folding back out. As @borski said, no need to rush backing out.
