Lucid Service Issues

I have to agree with the concerns explained here.
I have to get the Frunk adjusted. It opens and closes twice before opening and I am concerned that it might get stuck closed so I called for an appointment. I was told that the first available appointment was 4 weeks away but I would likely have to leave the car for 3-6 weeks. I asked if I could drop it off closer to the actual service appointment so that I would not lose the car for such a long period of time and was told no. Mobile service could not handle this issue so I chose to live with it, but to be honest I live in southern California and have the Costa Mesa Service Center 10 minutes away and the lack of concern for the inconvenience of losing my car is not a factor.

I have a Gravity Grand Touring fully loaded and love the vehicle, but I wish there was a sign that the service experience was improving but sadly it seems unchanged. Really makes little sense to lose your car for 1-2 months when this should be an adjustment and if it needed a part you could order it if it was going to take some time to obtain it and I could return.

I hope that this improves as I would like to own and Drive this type of vehicle for the foreseeable future. this is the best and most fun car that I have purchased or leased but I would love to see a reason to believe that the Company is actually listening and has a real plan for improvement.

Hope is important. I do love my car!
The way Lucid is handling service at the moment is insanity. There seems to have no adult-supervision!

I hope the Lucid employees who monitors this forum make their senior management aware that something is rotten in Lucid's SCs!

At best, Lucid's SC coverage is already very anemic when compared to its competitors. As Lucid's economic center-of-gravity moves to the mid-size, this kind of service will turn off the buyers. Unlike the early Lucid adopters who typically own multiple cars, enjoy the adventures of the unknow, and have money to throw at it, the mid-size market will have a much large proportion of potential buyers who rely on their car to go to work, ferry their children to/from school and events. The current service performance is a deal-breaker!

I had the same issue with my GGT Frunk, and this is what Lucid Service at the Rocklin Studio California suggested…and it worked for me:

"Good Morning, for your frunk, I'm really confident it's just the bump stop screwed in too far. If you open your frunk, there should be two rubber circle pieces on the left and right side by the struts. (see attached pics)

if you unscrew these about a quarter turn at a time, then retest your frunk. You should have no issues once you find the spot. Both sides do not need to be the same as you can see in the photos. We can also take care of this for you if you would like.”

This tuned out to be an easy, quick fix for me. Thumbs up to Rocklin Service!!!

Worked for me as well.

This works to a point. But mine is in for the second time for this and now they are looking at the struts themselves as the problem.

I'll add that I was lucky enough to snag a loaner Gravity this time around. Weird though since these aren't activated that there is no "coast" option for a drive mode from the Pilot Panel. Also, this one doesn't have 360 cameras, just the rear, which kind of blew my mind for a $100k car.

Are you sure its just not a super base Touring loaner with no options?

Would love to see a sticky thread for quick fixes/repairs.

, the only thing left to do (I will give them one more week), is show there in person. I will not pay the invoice, until they complete the full work order, as per the invoi
Just dispute it on your credit card and wait for them to call you. Call an independent shop to do the incomplete items - it isn't hard or unique.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience.

Inasmuch as Lucid's SCs under siege, I think there is a better way to handle things then their current practice:

> when customers scheduled their service months in advance, there is no reason why they turn in their cars at the appointed date and then have to wait weeks to get it serviced.
> this is bad for the customers and for Lucid. Lucid gives the customers a loaner, or in some cases including my own, an Enterprise (Luxury) rental, which Lucid pays for.
> my Enterprise "Luxury" loaner is a RAV4, and the driver's side floor mat has a huge hole in the middle of it! I don't personally care that much about it. But it looks really bad, for Enterprise and for Lucid!

What is maddening is not about the "2 week wait" to get my car serviced (scheduled 4 months ago). If you do the math. Lucid will lose money on my "$340 Schedule A" annual service because of the Enterprise rental, which I don't care for.

So, my question to Lucid is:

Who at Lucid thinks this is OK?!
I very much doubt that Lucid thinks it's okay. But I have no idea when there might be clear signs of improvement.

Yeah, I checked the door plate and it's a GT built in September 2025. I think it was possible to spec a GT last year without surround cameras. I'm pretty sure there were three options of DD2: standard, Premium and Pro; the cameras came with Premium and Pro is what I recall. Now for 2027 Premium is "standard" of course. Are there "lens" holes on the mirrors though where cameras would go? Yep.

There being no selection available of Stop Mode, "Hold or Coast" is odd. a couple AI's told me it was because the car is not activated (which is why there is no connectivity either). yes, the software is all up-to-date.

I envy all of you have had a service experience. I received my Gravity GTE in December of 2025. I live in a mandatory front license plate state. With my purchase came a bracket to hold a front license plate but it was not attached to the vehicle. I have neither the skills nor the desire to mount the bracket (as it requires drilling through the front bumper). I firmly believe that when you purchase a vehicle for more than $100,000, you should receive a vehicle that is legal to drive. As I live in Fargo, North Dakota, the nearest service center is in Chicago (approximately a 9 1/2 hour drive one-way). When I contacted the service center they agreed that it should be incumbent on Lucid to make sure the vehicle is able to receive a front license plate, and hence be legally drivable. They told me they would contact their mobile service provider and take care of the issue.

I have since contacted the service center multiple times. Each time they have told me that I would be contacted by their mobile server provider shortly who could arrange a time to come up and install the license plate bracket. Each time they politely explained it might be a month or so because they would try to "bundle" his trip from Minneapolis (where he is located) with other service calls. I have never heard from him. It is has not been over 4 months and absolute crickets.

My two most recent calls to the service center did not even allow me to speak to a living person. I chose both times to wait on hold for as long as it took. However, after 2 or 3 messages asking me if I wanted to continue to hold (I did), I was shunted into a voice mail. I have left voice mails both times. Again, I have heard nothing back.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me as to how I can get Lucid to install the front license plate bracket, or even better yet, how I can talk to a real person? I love this car, but the company is starting to suck worse than Tesla (my last vehicle).

Service came and picked up my car for a spa appointment in Coldwater, Michigan. They left me with a 2026 Air Touring in Quantum Grey Metallic with Stealth Appearance and aluminum roof. My car needs to have the frunk motors and latches adjusted. Hopefully they will have it only a week or so. In the meantime, here are my thoughts on the situation so far.
....
I'll update on the pluses and minuses of my experience with service. So far so good.
Lucid returned my car earlier today. All is good. It was actually finished on April 24th, but the return was timed with when Mobile Service would be in the area so that was today (April 30th). No worries since they left me with a really nice loaner. A 2026 Gray Stealth AT.

The only hiccup in the process is that they somehow lost my fob. So they programmed two new fobs. All good!

This post should serve as the answer to the prospective owners asking if they should buy one when they don't live close to a SC.
I had a similar situation with the front bracket but I am lucky enough to live not far from the SC, so I made them install it.

Hi, @NoDak-er. I just sent you a DM. Let me know how I can assist you.

Add me to the list of people having a not-so-great service experience. I was able to get an "early" appointment where they squeezed me in without needing to wait months - just weeks - I think due to some help from marqie and the fact that I have been sending my feedback directly to swfeedback@lucid.

I dropped the car last weekend and left the keys with the sales team. I have another vehicle I can drive, although it would have saved my wife the long trip to Tysons (I live more than an hour away in good traffic - on a weekday it's 2 hours) to drive me back home had a loaner been available on the weekend.

I should have read this thread first though, because my car is still in queue and they're "hoping" to get to it "early next week." Sounds like I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

I've had similar issues as others - nobody in service ever picks up the phone, and I don't think they call back. Fortunately I have a direct line to one of the service people there, but it's very unclear who is who and how to get a hold of anyone.

For Lucid: I would recommend that you make weekend dropoffs more customer-friendly. The sales office is staffed - it would be nice if people could drop their cars on the weekend and just get the loaner then, especially since Lucid doesn't have the widest service network yet and there are lots of people who are multi-hour drives away from their closest SC.

I have a GDE, and given that my car is likely to be in for a while (I'm thinking they won't look at it until next week, and then if parts are required, how long might that process take?) I asked if I could maybe come back and get a loaner after all - I was told none available, but I could have an Enterprise rental. That actually might work better for me since I could pick it up locally, but it's still not a great outcome for anyone for me to have to take a rental.

Some possible good news. After my car spending 3 1/2 weeks at Houston Service center, a day after picking up I noticed sagging weather stip on rear door. Looks like it had been cut short and did not fit into upper trim piece that has hole to accept strip and keep from pulling away. Tried to set up ANOTHER service for this using app tool and it showed nothing available. I then went online to my Lucid account. There I was able to request an open ended service appointment (no specific date) where you just list your issue and ask to be contacted by service. Took about a week but got texted this morning. Was able to schedule a “while I wait” appointment for next week. Ideally, this should be 1/2 hour to 1 hour max to fix. Cleaning the old sticky residue will probably take the longest.

He did mention that they had fired all other service advisors for Houston center (which covers 4 states) and he was only one left. Was hopefully in process of staffing back up.

Great news. As a result of posting on this cite, someone from Lucid reached out to me. A day or so later, a mobile service tech contacted me to schedule a service call. As a write this post, on May 13, the tech is here and is installing the license plate bracket. He is also fixing an issue with the rear seat that I didn't know I had. Needless to say, my story has a happy ending!

Another possible sign of possible progress in service. Follow up on my previous post above. Showed up for my noon appointment at Houston Service Center. When I showed up there was a rep waiting for me in lobby with clipboard with my name at the top. Took my keys and was repaired in less than an hour. Appeared to be 3 service advisors/support staff vs. there being just one a few weeks ago. Hopefully this is a sign that (at least for Houston SC) Lucid is moving to turn things around on the service front.

My car has now been in the service queue going on 8 M-F business days since my appointment. I'm told it's next to go into the service bay but I don't have an update as of today.

I did end up getting a loaner after griping a little; the service manager was very nice about it but she seems kind of alone to deal with issues. Texting what is either her cell phone or some kind of service line that goes straight to her is the best way of getting any updates. Unfortunately, my loaner is an Air and thus has no NACS port, and neither a charging cable nor adaptor was possible to give me, so I had to buy my own NACS to J1772 adaptor to be able to charge the car at home....

Hopefully they can get my issues sorted; many of them are a little ghost-y in nature so we'll see. Primarily I want my handles to work right. I'm going to insist on replacement of the two passenger side handles, which are the buggiest ones.
