Lucid new CEO: Silvio Napoli

1% of Lucid is 30million, but they diluted 300million worth of stock right? How is it 1%?
Shares outstanding and convertible equivalents

Not in front of my resource, but was just explaining idilution has to do with number of shares, not dollar value.

Napoli's background seems to show a strong preference for accountability and financial control and comes from a very service-oriented industry. Exciting opportunity for him (and, potentially, shareholders)!
You know, I was pretty thrown by the “vertical transportation” experience, lol, but I hadn’t considered the service aspect. You’re totally right, and I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that.

At least new CEO has expertise in " vertical transportation " 😀
Will help with getting parts from the basement to the upper floors in the factory, improving production output by 25% 😂

I wonder if they can see an opportunity to take ICE cars in for trade-in for the next 9 months?

Only 1% of current number of shares...drop in the bucket.

More interesting is the new CEO- looks like he has expertise in international expansion. Exactly what Lucid needs right now. We don't need a tech or a hype CEO!
Lucid needs international expansion? They can't handle their customers in the US. Lucid needs to get their s together, not international expansion.

They have to do both concurrently. You don’t leave midsize European market on hold while you address present service issues in the US.
One area where Lucid is actually ahead of Rivian

Yes. European expansion is the key reason for the Saudi factory.

Or, and hear me out here, maybe they can work on both things at the same time. Crazy idea, I know, but it just might work.
Sure. And we can also go to Mars and the Moon that the same time too. But somehow, it is better to learn how to walk before you try to run. But sure, they can go for it. It's going to be fun watching.

Frankly, I am surprised they didn't try to do a sedan, a SUV and a midsize at the same time too. Who knows, ANYTHING can happen, right?

At least in Germany, they are using a traditional dealer model. The distributor they chose has shown it can perform - perhaps Lucid is trying to find out whether the franchise model or direct model works better? Or, perhaps Germany simply doesn't allow the direct model. Dunno...

Germany does allow direct sales; BMW has been selling online there since 2017.

I'll admit I was skeptical of Silvio. I wasn't expecting someone coming from vertical transportation to take on the helm on Lucid. However, after listening to the Bloomberg interview, I learned that he came from an engineering background.

His LinkedIn is also very impressive.

I'll admit, I'm biased. The Master's of Material Science got me, as I have previously done materials engineering before my current work in data science. Also seeing his experience with different regions in Shnidler gives perspective and experience on global supply chains.

Finally, there's him being part of Eaton's Board of Directors, where Eaton is involved in the following:

Seeing all this experience, I'm now quite optimistic for Silvio, and I wish him all the best in Lucid!

At least in data centers, Eaton is generally known as having the best UPS options, too, fwiw.
