My beloved Lucid is a lemon 😢 I'm in Orange County, California & looking for some guidance on how to tackle this issue before filing a Lemon Law claim. My car has been in the shop at a minimum of 6 times, mostly for the same issue. Once I asked Customer Service to put me in touch with Lucid's legal department, they've gone radio silent on me. Any tips on how to get them to respond before I escalate to litigation? Anyone else have issues with opening their car, key fob not activating, etc for months & months with no resolution? I love the way it drives but it's been a giant headache even getting the car to start some days.

I think many have experienced much worse problems than the ones you describe. The car isn’t a lemon based on what you have described. I’m not a lawyer but have worked extensively in the legal field; and I seriously doubt anything will come of a legal claim.

I would have probably advised against going litigious with Lucid directly, because now it will be unlikely you will get good customer service as any company would be afraid of dealing with an overly litigious consumer.

Plenty of billboard lawyers for lemon law cases; I suggest you take the case to one of them. But again; read these forums for a bit and you will see the cars are perfect, perfect, but not finalized products like all new car companies these days.

They have come a long way; and hopefully you can come along with them if your willing to put in a little effort and love towards your beautiful machine.

Are you having significant mechanical problems that have prevented you from driving the car?

Many people have fob issues and while frustrating, are not grounds for a car being a lemon.

What other major issues are you encountering?

Folks here would be more than willing to help you out if you give us some more info about your issues.

What I can say from a legal standpoint is that you want to get a lawyer involved as a very last resort only. Once the lawyers get involved, usually that ties the auto company's hands to the point where they can't be of much help. What you want to do is escalate this up to a higher-level customer experience manager.

I don’t think what you’ve described qualifies for lemon law. Probably should’ve asked to speak to a regional manager or exec at Lucid before jumping straight to the legal department.

agreed

I was having key fob issues too. The service department replaced the battery once (Panasonic 2032) but it still wasn't working very well. I removed it and tested the voltage and it was a little low - swapped for another battery and it seems to be working better. I used a Duracell 2032 as a replacement.

Could you be a bit more specific regarding the main issue? I assume that is that the key fob is not operating as it should. But, exactly how? And is it a constant problem? If not, how frequent? If your experience is that when you go to the car in the morning it does not present door handles? And, if you push on the handles they fail to come out? So, then you get out the key card and use that to get in and to start the car? And then does the car operate properly while driving? and once you reach your destination and get out: Does the car shut off? And does it lock the doors? OR do you use the key card again? I And as far as who to contact, I agree with the concensus so far. Dont bother with the regular folks at the service center, and dont bother with legal dept. Try to get in touch with a higher up at HQ.

I am on my way to filling too. I don't have one "critical" issue, but I have a lot of smaller issues that add up fast. The biggest thing is the lack of support, of communication, of responsiveness from CS and the fact that every new update is almost useless except at introducing new bugs.

I have the resources, the time, and the patience to push this through. And if we get into a fight, then I can start going public, creating how-to-lemon-your-Lucid guides to everyone that is interested. TikTok, Facebook, documenting all the bugs on YouTube, press, blogs, dedicated website and mobile apps. Don't discount what a resourceful but unhappy client can do.

Can't deliver on your commitment Lucid? Give me a proportionate discount on my lease. I'm not asking for perfection, just for fairness.

Good luck; I doubt much will come of this hate letter to Lucid. Lease another car next time I guess? The vitriol is reallll.
