Now the question is whether the existing Gravity's have that capability or is it reserved for a future updated version? Am curious if L2++ is akin to Tesla FSD or (ideally) something more advanced.

In advance of the posts about when and what about what they've already promised and haven't delivered yet, consider reading possibly the most important section of the release, the Forward-Looking Statements section.

Totally agree. My main question wasn't about existing features or even potential features. Rather was purely wondering what hardware is already present versus what is referenced in the release. In any event, provides some reassurance in my choice to lease with the hope that a much more advanced vehicle is available 3 years from now.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Autonomous driving continues to be a research project, and it's difficult to say whether the sensors and computing capacity of a Gravity would be sufficient. But my assumption is "probably not". Maybe Lucid will offer upgrades that make it possible. But best to assume that you'll need to buy a new vehicle.

The goal is for "first true eyes-off, hands-off, and mind-off" consumer-owned AVs.

Dow Jones Newswires 10-28-25 1421ET;
“Nvidia and Lucid are teaming up to integrate the chipmaker's autonomous driving platform into the technology company's electric vehicles.

Lucid said Tuesday the partnership positions it to ultimately offer privately owned passenger vehicles with Level 4

autonomous driving capabilities, or what it calls the

"first true eyes-off, hands-off, and mind-off" consumer-owned AVs.

Lucid expects to use Nvidia's multi-sensor features including cameras, radar and lidar for Level 4 capabilities.

Under the partnership, Lucid will first offer Level 2 autonomous capabilities including eyes-on, point-to-point driving for its Gravity model and upcoming midsize vehicles, it said.”

Totally fair point. That said, with the speed at which NVIDIA is operating/innovating and with AI generally, crazier things could happen...

Yeah, that’s the biggest question as Lucid has a notorious record for over promising and under delivering.

Could be 2028 for all we know

Well they said L4 was for midsize, not Gravity, so at least not until then.

L2++ or whatever will be sometime before then

Yeah, I don’t think Gravity will see Level 4 and it was never promised. I do think it’s certainly set up for eyes on point to point though given it can already be enabled on city streets. How long that will take though is anyone’s guess.

Am I going crazy, or does the vehicle in the back have too much of a raked roof to be a Gravity?
Could it be another midsize hint?
