This is a feature I truly dislike on cars. My neighbor's car does this when he arrives home at midnight or 2am, and his driveway is across the street from our primary bedroom. It's just noise pollution.

I hope 3.6.0 gives you the confidence you need in Gravity's locking.

I hate the ones that use the horn. Way too loud and obnoxious. Our Mach-E only used the horn and I had to turn it off and do without. But our Macan has the gentle chirp which is 100x better. It would still be annoying if outside someone's window, or course, but not nearly as loud and obnoxious as the horn.

Speaking of which, I hate that the Gravity does the horn honk now when the car locks when the liftgate or frunk are still lowering. It should know to coordinate all that and wait 5 seconds while the liftgate lowers.

And worse, it uses the horn rather than a chirp. Which worries me that they might not even have chirp capability for when (if) they ever give us walkaway lock confirmation. Please use gentle chirp, not horn!

I do get that there is some value in knowing (and broadcasting) the locked up state.

Once I had a monster off-road Jeep which I rarely locked. Arriving at a restaurant and walking inside, my ex said in a loud voice "Hey, aren't you going to lock it up?", to which I replied as I walked back "Guess I have to now that you announced it to the whole world!".

She was my horn honk. No wonder we split up... 🤣

It does have a chirp. Press the lock button near your car when it is already locked. That’s the sound I’d like to hear on walk away to confirm it’s locked. Not loud or obnoxious, but loud enough to be heard. I had a Taycan and it had that chirp like the Macan and it was perfect.

Oh wow, I've never tried that. Took 2 presses for it to work just now but it did it on the 2nd. Kind of a boink chirp. Nice!

Now they just need to get it working for lock confirmation.

@marqie this is great and cant wait for the new release.

Any chance Lucid migrates from HERE to Google Maps ? that is IMO the single most required upgrade from a usability perspective. I'd pay an annual fee to have that integration tbh.
 
Hey, @marqie! I don't even have a Gravity, but it's so great to see you send out this OTA Update release announcement, which clarifies the target vehicles and provides an excellent level of detail. I hope this will be a regular process.

One thing you might want to consider, if you have not already, is to send out a notice when the team views the roll-out as completed. Better still, if you can, would be occasional progress reports on the approximate % completion of the roll-out schedule.

With or without any such progress reports, I think announcements like this are a great service to the installed base, and are so much appreciated!
 
Updating now! The estimated 3 hours of installation will seem very long. Can’t wait to drive the update.

It’s been discussed numerous times why many automakers choose HERE over Google. HERE is doing much more under the hood than what you’ll ever see.
