Lucid Air 2.8.9

Totally. Itll lock and unlock every time i walk past it in the garage without taking my phone out but less so in the wild.
I've gone back to FOB only full time. It is very reliable. Every once in a while, I have to press the handle and it unlocks immediately. My phone wasn't nearly as predictable, often requiring that I fish it out of my pocket/wake it up.

I have forgotten my fob a few times, hopped in the car, and realized that I am driving with my phone as a key a few times. It’s a little slower sometimes to open, but the phone as a key is way better than it was a few months back.

This is the first release that I've had issues with the doors on. Now it's asking me for my PIN all the time and at one I was unable to lock my car for 25 minutes away from home because I had the phone but not the key fob and the app said the vehicle was offline.

Give it the ol’ Lucid Reboot

Don't know why it's not working, but it's a good idea to always keep the NFC key card in your wallet or pocket as backup.

I had the key card in my wallet, I didn't know I could use it to lock the car, and the customer service person didn't ask me if I had it on me.

I did the logo reboot, and the customer service person had me do the brake-mic-x reboot and neither helped. Apparently the cell coverage wasn't good enough (even though I was in the middle of the city and had two bars on my AT&T cell phone). I ended up tethering my car to my cell phone.

What's weird, is four days a week I park my car in an underground garage with zero cell service and don't have an issue using the mobile key to get into my car.

Well it’s not known for it’s robustness that’s for sure.

So if you use the phone as a mobile key. It connects with bluetooth not cellular. Its the bluetooth connection Lucid-0****. If that connection is made, it should not ask for a PIN to drive the car. The second bluetooth is Lucid Air ^^^. That is used for phone/address book so that you can make calls. Both connections are needed for smooth operation of the car. If you have passive lock/unlock the loss of bluetooth connection should cause the car to lock and after a few minutes, shut down.

The app uses cellular connection. You can lock/unlock remotely as long as you have a cellular connection. You would have to enter your pin to drive if you used the app to unlock and there is no bluetooth signal.

It sounds to me like you need to re-pair your cell phone so it will work as a mobile key again. I'm guessing if you go through your list of bluetooth devices on your phone, you'll find the Lucid-0*** missing. You would need to go to your car and follow the knstructions to forget the key and them re-pair it.

I see that I am once again unable to wake my Air remotely if I have the vehicle's wi-fi turned on. When I turn the wi-fi off, it wakes reliably. Odd, IMO. BTW, my phone is a Pixel 9, so perhaps this is only an Android thing.

Any navigation blips? Mine thinks I'm somewhere in Upstate NY since 2.8.9. A local 5-mile destination becomes a 240-mile trip from up north. Any ideas?
This. I brought this up on the earlier thread but nobody else confirmed so I assumed it was a fluke for the day but it’s actually happening multiple times. The car is also not showing up accurately on the mobile app (iPhone and Android) or with delay (like hours). Maybe has to with my CCCv2 upgrade? Never had this issue until the recent OTA update and chip upgrade.

I'm noticing a massive change in regen... i take a same stretch of road every day in sprint on my way to work (full acceleration to about 80mph and then off the throttle completely), and since the update, I have to start using the brakes instead of the regen kicking in.. in some cases, it's as if the regen kicks in late and unsettles the car.

second issue started today, hands free driving has completely gone away. I did a restart, and then went and drove a stretch of highway 101 where I would use HFD all the time, and it would not activate.

Not an android thing. Happens to me, too

this is interesting! I just got my air GT this weekend (used) and hands free has never come up, even on large highways. I thought it was because i was in Canada and Lucid got me in contact with a service centre here and they said it should work...and I also have the 2.8.9 update so maybe that's what's causing the issue? They told me to reset anyway and i'm going to do it later so fingers crossed that fixes it...if not, i hope it's not forever until the next update if this is a common issue

I griped in another thread about how I lost all forms of “Driver Assist”, using 2.8.7, including basic cruise control. Subsequent to my bitching and moaning, I repeated the steering wheel button reset and on the drive following that second or third reset, all those functions came back.

Then I installed 2.8.9. And did the obligatory steering wheel button reset. The flashing red “Takeover Now!” ADAS-related warnings are now back, screaming, but not as frequently as before, and pushing the appropriate steering wheel buttons and scroll wheels brought them all back. Every time.

So for me, 2.8.9 appears to be two steps forward, one half-step back. I’ll be going back to my car late this evening, after I finish work. Before I start my 140 mile drive home, I’ll do another steering wheel reset. Maybe that will yet again, clear up all the flashing red warnings and the ADAS disconnects.
I agree that 2.8.9 is a step back in terms of Hands-Free Drive Assist with DDPro. I constantly get the "Takeover Now" warning and then a rude jolt before dropping down Drive Assist mode. I don't know how many others have experienced this.

I’m still at 2.8.5. Never received 2.8.7.
2025 Air Touring.
