what do you think .. for the US, will Lucid sell more Gravitys than Airs? SUVs sell more than sedans in the US and given the large capacity of the Gravity, I would guess that it'll outsell the Air. So I think that's be pretty cool for Air owners as the brand gets bigger to have the cool sports sedan from the brand that everyone will learn. What do you think?

I think that if Lucid doesn't sell more Gravities than Airs, there's big trouble coming.

I worry about a lot of things, but I'm not too worried about this.

They will sell MANY, MANY more Gravity’s than Airs!!
That is the reality. Combine people who want to sit high so they can see over or through other drivers; People who have storage needs that can't be accommodated by the Air; Older folks and others who have difficulty getting in and out of a performance sedan; People who pretend (even to themselves) that they want to go off-roading; People who need more room for occupants. etc. and the Gravity will win. Let me use BMW as an example.

The 2 series last year in the USA sold about 15K cars; the equivalent X1/X2 sold about 30K SUVs; the 3/4 series sold around 74K cars; the equivalent X3/X4 sold around 79K vehicles (pretty close); The 5 series sold around 25K cars; the X5/X6 equivalent sold around 82K vehicles.

Whether one likes it or not, I fully expect that the Gravity will outsell the Air just as the X series outsells the BMW sedans/coupes.

Just like the Cayenne outsells the 911.

Yup. Doesn’t even make me mad. More profit for them to build my eventual roadster with 😈

Having both sedans (Air) and Crossover/ SUVs (Gravity) in the lineup is perfect. Meets most needs. Then, hopefully soon, launching the smaller, less expensive “Midsize” (likely crossover first, then maybe a midsize/ small sedan), would be the icing on the cake. Provided of course Lucid is alive and well by the time those milestones are reached.

I think that ramping up Gravity manufacturing to the extent the sales would surpass Air sales would take months. Perhaps by 2026 calendar year. But eventually yes, people in US tend to buy more SUVs & Crossovers than Sedans.

As a side note, anecdotally, I stopped by the local Studio / Service Center yesterday to put in the bear logo / decals on my Air Touring I bought in February, and I spoke with several Lucid folks. They were all extremely confident Lucid will meet and exceed the 20,000 vehicles sold goal for 2025. They were very busy. Of course, this is just one small datapoint, and may not mean much

Definitely more Gravity’s. If both had been available 26 months ago when I got my Air, I would have bought the Gravity. 20k Lucids sold this year would have sounded nuts two months ago. With TeXla sales tanking, I think it is very possible.

I think the combination of the tariffs and backlash against Musk/Tesla will be a help for Lucid to sell not only more Air's, but more Gravity's than they normally would have. American's penchant for SUVs has been a limiting factor for Lucid, now removed with the introduction of the Gravity. Of course the entry cost will still be there, but if the Gravity sells good enough it could be a gateway to a market for their lower cost vehicle to come.
