Been driving 800 miles round trip from Houston to Dallas. It just doesn’t work regardless how many miles which driven on Highway Assist already.

Has anyone gotten same issue as mine?

yep, it took 2-3 days after i installed 2.4.2 before i got it to work. although i don't recall seeing that warning on mine.

I have the same issue. Write to customer care, and it should be fixed in an upcoming OTA.

I also have the same issue. Stay tuned.

Just to confirm, once the feature is turned on and calibrated, the lane change is initiated by simply using your turn signal? Just drove the length of the PA Turnpike yesterday and while I am seeing the dotted lane lines, the vehicle doesn’t change lanes by signaling alone.

Hold the turn signal lever against the first detent for at least half a second. If you don't hold it, you're doing a normal, manual lane change.

Hold it against either detent and then let go. The holding it is the important part. I confirmed this with the engineers directly.

Yeah I was simplifying. No need to expend the effort to get to the second detent!

Version 2.4.10

Still same issue. 😞

Sorry, I should have responded previously. If it wasn’t fixed in that OTA you almost certainly need service, not CS. You likely need your B-pillar cameras replaced, but I don’t know that without seeing what’s going on specifically of course; my guess is that’s it though.

Then it’ll work fine. :)

Thanks. I will check my service advisor.

Hi everyone,

I’m on DDP software version 2.5.0 and calibrated Lane Change Assist (LCA) when it first launched. The toggle switch for LCA is on, but my experience with it on the highway has been pretty inconsistent.

When I press the turn signal—either to the first detent or all the way—LCA often doesn’t initiate a lane change, even when the adjacent lane is clear with no cars nearby. I don’t see the "Lane Change Assist not available" warning; it just doesn’t seem to engage. Occasionally it works, but most of the time it doesn’t; and I can’t figure out why.

I’ve tried rebooting, but that hasn’t solved the issue. For those of you using LCA, is it working consistently for you? Or are you noticing similar behavior such that this is expected as part of the software maturation process?

As a reference point, I also use this feature in my Tesla, so I’m curious how others are finding the experience.

Thanks in advance for any tips or insights!

Hold it just before the first detent, if you’re just doing a flash to pass but for a bit longer.

There are a couple requirements:
1) Ensure the lines on the screen are dashed. If they are solid, LCA is unavailable for one reason or another for that lane. If only one is solid, *that* lane is unavailable for LCA, but the other would work fine. This may be due to several reasons, such as a car being present that would prevent it from making the lane change.

2) If you don’t have cell service, LCA will not work. It requires HD map data, which is accessible (at present, at least) only from the cloud. If you don’t have service, the lines will be solid.

3) LCA may pop up a small message that says “Keep hands on wheel.” This is not a suggestion; I consider this a UX bug. That is *exactly the same* as the HA “keep hands on wheel” alert, except it’s a lot less in-your-face. If it says that, it will not make the lane change until you apply torque to the steering wheel, just like HA requires.

4) Other states in which LCA may be unavailable: a solid lane boundary, if you’re about to leave a freeway, if you have your hazard lights on, or are driving <40mph.

Unlike Tesla - you have to hold the stalk at the first detent for a few seconds to tell the car to do an automatic lane change. Not holding the stalk against the detent tells the car to just blink because you're going to change lanes yourself.

I think I've had lane change with once and since then it's complained it's unavailable. Also haven't gotten auto park to work in a while either. I wonder if they are related?

This is actually partially true. There are two options: you can get to the first detent and then hold it a bit past that point for a moment, or you can just hold it in the “flash to pass“ area before it gets to the first detent. If you let go quickly, it will simply blink three times. If you hold it for an extra moment, it will initiate lane change if possible.

Thanks, it's been a while since I used it. Most of the time I'd rather change lanes myself - I'm smoother.
