Taking a road trip decided to see how it would work with a supercharger.

The cord is waaaay too short could not get it to reach even driving nose in - had to parallel park which would be very annoying to others since I’d take up multiple chargers - luckily there was a charger off to the side.

Battery is at 77% pre charging started at 48 - dropped to 46 and I’m sure it will go down as the battery fills up.

It’s going to add roughly 180 miles per hour.

App worked seamlessly.

It’s good to know that you can use the supercharger network but it won’t be quick. Also if you’re staying at a hotel with a NACS charger it’s good to know you can use it.

I’ve heard level 4 chargers may be quicker with longer cords ??

PS - I’m not in an official disabled space!!

PPS - I’ve been here for 16 minutes and it’s added 48 miles

Apparently the Lucid NACS adapter can only be used with DC fast charging, so the hotel charging would probably be a no go:

Please note this adapter is designed exclusively for use with NACS DC fast chargers and is not compatible with any AC chargers. Use with any charger other than NACS DC may result in damage or pose safety risks.

All NACS to CCS adapters can only be used for DC fast charging (Supercharger, etc).
All NACS to J1772 adapters can only be used for AC slow charging (home or hotel destination charger, etc).

You need both adapters for the most flexible road trip experience.

Current V4 supercharger stalls are still supplied by v3 450-volt power cabinets, and you'll get only 45-48kW.
Someday Tesla will start installing v4 1000V power cabinets, and you'll get your car's full rated charging speed.
Other charging providers are beginning to install 1000V NACS stations now.

Just to clarify, will any NACS to CCS adapter work with Tesla charging DC fast charging stations or Lucid supplied one only? Heading out on a road trip prior to the shipping date shown on the Lucid website & I'd like to be able to use Tesla chargers in a pinch

They all perform the same function. The differences lie in voltage and current ratings (you want 1000V and 500A), conductor materials and sizing, housing materials and design, the presence, function and robustness of the required latches and their charging interlock switches, efficacy of overtemperature protection, and any evaluations of safety and functionality by the automaker and recognized third-party agencies.
