So today is just my second day driving my brand-new 2025 GT, and I’ve run into multiple issues—one of them being a HUGE problem. When I pulled into the underground garage at work to grab a parking ticket, I couldn’t reach the machine, so I put the car in P, opened the door, and got the ticket. Immediately after, I couldn’t shift the car into D or R. I ended up blocking the parking entrance while calling customer service.

They suggested a reset, which worked temporarily, but when I came back to the car a couple of hours later, the same issue happened again. This time, the reset didn’t work, and now the car is stuck in the garage. I’ve been on hold with CS for a while now. Not a great experience with a brand-new car! Anyone else have the same issue?

I have literally never seen or heard of that! Obvious question: I assume you had your foot on the brake when shifting?

What kind of key were you using? I would say cellphone as a key is not as reliable as a fob or a card.

This owner is active on the Facebook Lucid owners and reported that they have fobs and mobile key with them, the doors are closed, the foot is on the break, etc., but the car won’t shift. They are a new owner, and I saw her posts in the past as she was selecting the vehicle, and they were very excited about it. It looks like they couldn’t get a hold of CS. They ended up leaving the car in the workplace garage.

Do you know if CS is staffed 24/7? I know roadside assistance is. I know she waited for several hours to reach/call back last night without my luck, but it was late in the night. I'm also putting this on @mcr16's radar considering this is something new that most of us haven't heard about and also to offer any assistance to this new owner.

A generic Customer Service opens during business hours for most in the industry.

Roadside Assistance and Towing Service (as in this case) should be 24/7 for Lucid and the industry.

That explains it.

Thank you so much!

100% should never happen. I'm sorry to hear about this. The only thing I can think of is that some bug made the car believe the key was not present, but that is definitely not okay, especially when exiting a parking garage. Hopefully Customer Service can help!
