camera system issues

Uh, oh. I was about to turn off the curb rash alert but don't want to do that if it still doesn't fix the surround-view issue. I've been assuming the curb rash alert was still working. Although I hadn't seen it come on, I was just assuming I was staying far enough away from curbs.

So, does curb rash alert still function when the surround view malfunctions?

(I couldn't believe how dependent I have become on surround view for parking . . . until I started losing it. And I really like to find a space at the end of a row and hug the side curb as much as possible to reduce the chances of getting a door dinged by some asshat -- something that Florida silvercrests have elevated to an art form, along with parking at 15º angles in head-in parking spots.)
It doesn’t, but it will fix your camera issues.

Turned off the curb protection, still happened to me today again.

As soon as the technician left after installing the hardware update for 2.5, I got the front camera error while trying to park my car in the garage. The screen went blank with the warning. Contacted CS and they recommended a reset. All good for about a week, then error returned. Lucid came and got my car this morning to correct the problem. I'll report when I get my Touring back.

There is not a specific date I can provide, unfortunately. I will definitely let you and the other owners know when I have more specific information to share.

Can we request a minor update with this issue addressed. All cameras and sensors are working fine until you pull in for parking. The 360 cameras don't come off when you need them to park safely. This is not just a minor annoyance/nice to have.

Well, as I mentioned - embarrassing as it is, get out of the car and look.

It always works, and the feeling passes faster than if you run into something instead.

This is not to let Lucid off the hook obviously given my original post. But don't let yourself be hamstrung when there is a low tech solution to the problem that works 100% of the time.

You are absolutely right. I have laser assist (those red dots). Even with them, I still do a visual if the cameras malfunction. Better safe than sorry. I think it's the 4th or 5th camera issue in 2+ years for me; hopefully in the rear-view (pun intended) after Lucid returns my vehicle.

That's what I do - get off and see if I can move the car in a bit more since the car's footprint is huge. But couple of times I was parking into slanted parking slots on a busy street. See the parking spaces on the right side of the road in the picture. So we have to either risk crashing into the curb or block traffic behind us while we park which will surely not endear Lucid owners as a whole to other drivers. I ran into the curb the first time I was parking when I realized how low this car is.

Update: I got a call from Francisco today. They tried to recalibrate the cameras but the error has not gone away, so they are going to replace one or several. Communication with Lucid has been over the top. Francisco and everybody have been unbelievable in keeping me in the loop, even monitoring when the flat bed would arrive at my home. Francisco said the car should be ready tomorrow but he will confirm either way.

Car delivered and washed. Daniel said they tried to recalibrate but were unsuccessful. They removed the pillar cameras and replaced the connectors. All is well. They put over 50 miles of testing on my car. If there was a concierge-level of service, this would be it. Can't say enough good things about how Lucid handled this issue. Francisco in Costa Mesa was on top of everything every step of the way, even calling as the tow vehicle was pulling up on my driveway. Not enough stars to rate how well I've been treated. Car cameras are now good.
