BMW Neue Klasse i3, Model 3 Performance (last resort), or Polestar 5 (should it ever come out in the US)
so many more mouths to feed, so much more hay to make... said "no one ever!"![]()
If you couldn't drive your Air, what other EV would you consider buying and why?
You're not gonna believe this but Lucid used both the Blackwing and the E39 M5 as part of their benchmarking for the Air and the SapphireIMHO there’s really nothing quite like the Air. It’s not perfect but out of all the cars I own/ owned it’s certainly in the top 5 for all time greats and is probably #1 for all around do everything. The only cars that gets more use now that the weather is nice is the Blackwing and the e39 M5. Maybe the limited edition Model S would work but I’ll never know because I can’t drive one. Taycan Turbo S is a blast but too tight for me anyway and ride quality can be rough for a daily. When the Sapphire is at $100k I’ll get one for sure.
Yes I recall this, very cool. I also believe that the steering rack is from the same manufacturer as the Blackwing and I believe the Porsche GT3.You're not gonna believe this but Lucid used both the Blackwing and the E39 M5 as part of their benchmarking for the Air and the Sapphire![]()
Looks like MB is going the other direction by bringing back the AMG V8, flat plane crank and all https://www.thedrive.com/news/mercedes-amg-will-get-its-v8s-back-this-yearI think I would consider either the BMW Neue Klasse i3 or the Mercedes C-Class EV… but much preferably M or AMG variants if available to close the performance gap with the Air. I’ve enjoyed the spacious size of the Air, but it’s a touch larger than I need.
Although that one tested was starting at $80k USD equivalent as specced.
Looks like the ix3 gets about 3.9 mi/kwh and 400 miles real world highway range (70-75 mph)....
The range of the BMW is pretty good, but I suspect both the Air and Gravity are better. Why? This was not at 70-75 mph.Looks like the ix3 gets about 3.9 mi/kwh and 400 miles real world highway range (70-75 mph)....
Fair enough, I suspected as much when the Tesla was also getting 340 miles...The range of the BMW is pretty good, but I suspect both the Air and Gravity are better. Why? This was not at 70-75 mph.
There was some glimpses of 70 mph on the speedometer, but did you see the traffic? No way it was 70 mph sustained. Also, there were additional clips of the speedometer/cruise at 60 mph.
At a few points in the video, navigation showed:
At those speeds, I bet we’d get EPA. One thing to note is that they hit rain, which would drop efficiency.
- 58 miles, 1 hr 20 min: 43.5 mph.

Very well puat bout the etron GT. Similar performance but at least 100 less range. Cramped back seat but beautiful styling. I bought mine in ‘22 for about $100k. Same car is now $145.probably get another audi etron gt. i had one and liked it. seems similar to my air minus 100 miles range. not as roomy but much nicer styling. or maybe a used taycan in mamba green. my dog prefered the audi over the air. must have smelled better. i wish someone made a nice electric 2 door coupe. i am eyeing the electric porsche cayman if it ever materializes
