How to limit or stop email notifications

Some of you have been asking about limiting email notifications for new posts on threads you've posted on. There are two methods to do so:

Just on the thread you posted on
When you post on a thread, you are automatically enrolled in email notifications on new posts made by other members (unless unchecked, see next section). To stop future emails on the thread only you can select unwatch the thread. On the thread, in the top-right section of the page, you can select Unwatch and you will no longer receive further emails on that thread.

Globally for all postings in the future
If you would like to edit what kind of emails you receive in the future, you can do so by doing the following:

1) Select your username in the top-right corner, then open preferences

2) From there, you can select what type of emails you receive and then click save at the bottom.

I should be noted that un-checking the "Receive email..." options takes a while to become active in the system. I still received an occasional email the day after I turned it off, but now it seems to have settled and no more email is coming.
