I was hit yesterday but someone who apparently couldn't see a relatively large white sedan in the lane right next to them...

Got a police report and towed it to the only authorized shop in Phoenix. Who knows what awaits, but I'm not terribly optimistic about the wait time and hassles given what I've read of others' experiences. Looks like it will need at least a new rear quarter panel, bumper cover, and wheel.

Not even a month old and still on the paper tags....

Anyone have experience with State Farm and handling Lucid claims?

Other driver does have insurance thankfully, and no injuries thankfully.

There is an entire thread related to insurance claims on the forum. I would use the search function to find experience with your particular insurance company.
 
At least you are in AZ... just go to the factory and demand a new bumper! Joking.. sorry you going through it. Let us know how you get it sorted.
 
Right! I'm just an hour up the freeway from Casa Grande. I'll keep the board apprised of my progress.

This is a very very positive aspect.
 
A few updates following the 11/15 fender bender:

11/26: Received repair estimate from body shop (just over $22k).
12/10: State Farm approved estimate
12/11: Parts ordered - Est 2wks to arrive (much quicker than I anticipated even being in Phoenix).

I'll update again once the parts arrive on the estimated completion date.
 
Really sorry to hear that. I'm in a very similar boat. Only a few weeks old, with only 479 miles, and someone clipped me getting on an on ramp (same, hard to see a giant white sedan I guess). Car is at the local Lucid approved repair shop as of yesterday, waiting for a timeline update, though I'm not particularity optimistic that it won't be at least a couple of months.

If you want to feel a bit better, the estimator told me a guy with a leased Model X has had his car there at the shop for almost a year (said they were having trouble getting what they needed from Tesla to repair it). No idea what the details are or if there are extenuating circumstances, but that would really suck.

Missed every update since 2.3.10 . Car is bricked now. Shop has to truck it back to Lucid because "it's completely dead". Should have kept the car and put a piece of duck tape over the crack.

Meanwhile ... leveraging this misfortune to justify a Sapphire. Merry Christmas everyone.
 
Sorry to hear! I went through State Farm on a repair this year. They were easy to work with but their initial estimate ($16k) versus the actual cost after the certified shop did the entire repair ($38k) was significantly different. SF took care of it quickly but the repair took 5 months because waiting on parts and calibration from Lucid. Good luck with your repair!
 
Jeez, I know misery loves company, but holy cow, not the positive experiences I want to hear about (and y'all have my sympathies).

Allstate for me, the "body shop" I went to is local and Lucid certified and they said they could do it all, and if not, the Millbrae service center is only 15 minutes away or so and they would truck it if over there was something they could not handle. Also on Allstate's "preferred" shop list so supposedly they just cover everything and get "priority" (yeah, I'm really banking on that). Still, it sounds like the best scenario for a better repair timeline and less hassle, though Murphy and his law are probably lurking.
 
I went through this recently as well. Just 2 months after getting my ST the left front corner of the bumper was hit and scratched. It looked minor, but the repair ended up being $18,000 and took 5 weeks. Insurance (Liberty Mutual) and the repair shop were all easy to work with smooth.

I also live in AZ and have State Farm as insurance. The Only body shop in AZ that they found to be able to work with LUCID is Stil Swangn (SS), on 4124 N 22ndnd Dr. Phoenix, AZ 85015, they did great work on the lucid and state farm paid in full. Hope that helps.

Wonder why parts took so long...considering its not like Airs are flying off the shelf.

To be fair, the first month was pretty much the back and forth between SF and the body shop as they kept discovering more things that need to be repaired/replaced as they were disassembling the damage area on the car. The repair was pretty much done in two months except for a couple of components that needed to be shipped by and calibrated by Lucid once installed. That piece of it took another 6 weeks before the shop could release the car to me. Mind boggling...
 
There might be an upside to my story. I called the body shop the other day to see what's up. Again (I've called several times) no manager or tech would speak to me = only the receptionist. That's fine, her job is to keep the customers AWAY from the techs. However she did say something revealing:

She told me the car was bricked and needed to be trucked back to Lucid to find out if it can be un-bricked. She said, " ...and when Lucid is done it will be trucked back to us so we can fix the trunk. ?? What are they doing to the trunk? All the "damage" (small gash in front bumper cover) was to the front. ??

I have hope that they imagine the poorly matching left passenger door and the completely horrible trunk lid was a result of the deer running into me, not the low-quality standards of early-delivered Lucids.

I'm hoping for the best as Mercury goes direct on Sunday + the Full Moon in Gemini .


Else I'm bidding on the Sapphire . Curse you Borski.
