Looks like those who speculated the Gravity would reel in the Rivian by the 1/4 mile were right. It does seem like the Rivian was handicapped by its electronic speed limiter cutting power, so I wonder if the Gravity would have clipped it if Rivian took the gloves off. Still an impressive performance from both vehicles. Crazy that SUVs are this fast at this weight. I think it's getting riskier and riskier to be a pedestrian these days 😕

Not sure who else besides me speculated in favor of the Gravity…

I, for one, would have put money on the Rivian Quad. The Dream edition closes a pretty crazy gap (the R1 Quad launches hard!) to come back and win - super impressive! The only asterisk here is that the DE is a limited-production model, so the GT would likely have been the fairer race. Not sure fair is the right word, but more applicable, in my opinion anyway. The speed limiter was certainly doing Rivian no favors either.

The speed limiter is there for a reason, previous vehicles topped out at 110.

Tri-Motor R1S is estimated to be faster than GT by a few 10ths, no actual GT 1/4 mile data yet

The Gravity looked sleepy on reaction off the line....but it's also got all the top end with better aero and motor top end. For me I prefer that style when rolling into something around 50mph to pass or merge...

Although I think Randy was driving the Dream so I take back the reaction time thing...

If you had told me 20 years ago we’d ever be seeing these kind of numbers from any family hauler, I would have simply scoffed. But wow. Simply wow. And to see Lucid at the top of the heap . . . again.

For those of us who live our lives a 1/4 at a time, this is very exciting to see for the Gravity. I already knew it didn't have the best 0-60, although extremely impressive, but seeing how it pulls all the way! I am anxious to try this out at the 1/4 drag strip and then to a 1/2 mile event to see how much it continues to pull!

For a few more seconds to 155…

Honest question... Are the motors in the gravity the same as the Air?

The Gravity has the next generation of Lucid motors, with improved cooling channels and other incremental advancements. I don't get the impression the modifications are major, but just taking efficiency up another notch.

The Gravity GT has a larger rear motor than front motor, and the Gravity Dream uses the larger GT motor at both ends.

Well count me as someone who thought for sure the Rivian was going to win. With the Saphire, Lucid already showed us how more motors can be more important than pure HP when it comes to acceleration. That seems to hold true off the line (and explains why the Rivian took off so much better) but it is really impressive how the Gravity closed the gap.

I'd like to see a full review of the Gravity by Jason Camissa, he is one of my favorite content creators in the car space right now.

The Rivian is just geared much lower so it has more torque. The compromise is that the motor is spinning faster so horsepower drops off sooner (electric motors lose horsepower at high RPM.)

I just watched again and see the GT listed in the leaderboard at the end of the video! (Near the bottom of the section they show)

Not sure if this is an estimate or they actually got to test one. But according to the leaderboard, GT does 11.0 @ 128

Good eyes. I guess it means a full test is coming. Usually Camissa drops on Thursdays (unless an embargo dictates an earlier release).

Hopefully the 10th or the 17th the in depth Gravity review will drop.

Explain.

The driver of the Gravity did seem to have a slow reaction time compared to some of the other drivers.

I know the launch of the Gravity wasn't as hard/ aggressive as the Rivian, but for actual movement, it seemed to move third out of the four. Not that it mattered.

Randy got made at you? 😀

BTW, I have no idea who Randy is.
