Lucid Air Dream
Afternoon lucid Fans,

I just test drove the Gravity and looked at a final build at Tysons Corner showroom in Virginia. I was really surprised at the interior space with how much headroom all occupants have. I am 6 feet tall and had a huge amount on headroom (in my opinion way more than my air). Both cars were painted Aurora Green and depending on light it can look more grey than green. It is a very subtle green and to me the Tahoe interior is not orange at all (like some have stated). I also have to admit the large wheels don’t look as big as I thought they were going to look…. I really want the extra range and having smaller wheels doesn’t bother me.

I didn’t have a lot of time in the car but I think the summer tires feel like they are all season. The car feels and drives solidly (very planted).

The tech is similar to the air but there is a lot more you can do and it’s pretty much all sorted out for the most part. Except HUD and hands free driving.

I look forward to adding the gravity to my garage.

I was there today as well and having seen the Tahoe interior with the Lunar Titanium last year and seeing it today on Aurora Green(AG), I think the brightness of the Titanium makes the Tahoe look orangish, while the AG provides a stylish contrast that tones down the Tahoe. Just my take.

Glad you have one In Tyson’s corner. Still waiting to see a Gravity for a test drive down in San Diego. Likely several more months at least before they have one in the studio.

As soon as the EPA certification is approved in CA, they will get display/test drive units delivered to all studios. Hopefully with customer cars that have already been vin'd and are sitting pretty @ their factory/lot in Casa Grande.

I'm test driving in Tyson's tomorrow morning, 10:20am. If any forumites are around and want to say hi, uhhh, slide into my DMs? 😳 I'll probably be arriving at least a little early (or planning to anyways, f*** 495) and I'll stick around a little bit afterwards to crawl around any floor models.

I will be there this weekend. Exited to see in person
Another suggestion, that if I had known about it, I would have asked; it a predetermined, short route that stays on city streets. Consider asking about a space (parking lot perhaps) where you can experience the rear wheel steering more than straight ahead driving or regular turns. Maybe ask for a U-turn. Just a suggestion.

I was so dang amped up and excited, I just wanted to get behind the wheel and at the end make sure I got my speedform.

My SA explained the pre-VIN and VIN details and then talked about her contact with the logistics team to locate GDEs and GGTs. Also got a better understanding of how the order date is factored into the delivery decisions.

I thought about asking the couple I rode along with if they were forum members. I decided, they were nice enough to let me ride along before my drive; sit in the back and shut up. If they're members they'll post here about some clown asking for a ride.

Speaking of 495; I took the train and metro. I hate 95 and 495. I'll do the same come time for delivery inspection and then ask to have it shipped to the service which is across town from where I live. I may even have it shipped to the shop doing the PPF.

Which studio in Tyson’s (1 or 2) are the Gravity demo drives? I have a 3pm reservation today. Thanks. I tried calling the studio but no one answered and their system just disconnects after a while (0 does not work).

The demo drives were in Tyson’s 1, lots of foot traffic in the Lucid Studio. They had 2 Gravities for demo drives. It was quick drive around Tyson’s. The car felt solid although I thought the steering was heavier than my MX (probably a software settings). I was surprised that there is no auto open/close on the front doors for the price and that they don’t have the auto off turn signal implemented. Interestingly with the steering wheel setup I did not see myself needing the HUD since everything I need was very visible in front of me and could still easily see down the road. I was also told that the vertical load for a bike rack was 110lbs. That was as disappointing as Tesla’s 120lbs limit!

I appreciate your thoughts on the HUD. I also wonder how useful it would be with the main display high in the drivers sight line.

Yeah, it has soft close, but not auto open/close. The turn signal does automatically turn off when you use Lane Change Assist or take an actual turn; it’s only when you’re changing lanes yourself that it doesn’t know if you’re done.

I actually appreciate this, as I often go across a few lanes at a time (if it’s clear) and don’t have to worry about retriggering the blinker, but I can see both perspectives.

Yeah - the HUD is *really* interesting once you add in the nav and focal point stuff, since drawing which lane to be in and which exit to take “on the road” would be very very helpful.

But just for like… speed? Meh.

Another thing to consider is that if you wear polarized sunglasses you wouldn’t be able to see the HUD display, at least not clearly.
True. If I really wanted or felt I need a HUD, I just wouldn't wear polarized sunglasses. However, that is info any potential user should consider.

Some of you mention test driving the gravity at Tyson’s. What state is that in? I know there is a Tysons in Maryland.

If you order a gravity without HUD, wouldn’t the drivers display still display the same thing that would’ve been on the HUD? For example, wouldn’t it display augmented reality data exactly as it would have appeared on HUD?

It’s in Northern Virginia (not a state, just the northern part of the great Commonwealth of Virginia):

I went there today after work. The Gravity was awesome. It was a Zoo in there. Lots of people trying to get in

That is the one I was referring to, it's just outside of Washington D.C. I thought it was part of Maryland but it is in Virginia. Thanks

Has anyone heard when the Gravity will be available at their new KOP Mall Studio for test drives? That studio is only an hours drive away for us.

For those not from PA, KOP is the King of Prussia Mall north of Philly.
