Gravity test drive

HUD a useless distraction.

Take my drivers license away on the day when I become to feeble to scan my mirrors every few seconds, driver awareness is all about anticipating what can go wrong around you.

Expect the unexpected.
Also, the cars we demoed were GTs and had lights on doors and down the middle where rear view mirror goes. Not sure where else people expect dynamic lighting.

If you want a party bus, buy one.

The cars demo'ed in Tysons were all GTs *with the HUD option* so they had the full lighting package. Without the HUD there are no LED strips in the doors. As to the "party bus" comment, I guess I'll concede it's just a cosmetic feature, but so is a lot of stuff in a >$100K luxury vehicle. A little ambient lighting puts it over the top.

Good point. My bad.

That raises a good question about the HUD. If it’s in such short supply for a hardware issue, why put it in the demos and studio cars? Especially if it doesn’t even work.

Because eventually the HUD will be available in those models so no point sending cars to studios without a HUD only to need to send a fresh batch of cars 6 months later with a HUD.

I also think Lucid had every intention of trying to get the HUD out from day 1 but something clearly backed them into a corner where they couldn’t wait and longer any had to pull the pin.
