Gravity Delivery Discussion

At this point I don’t even have an SA assigned to me yet. I ordered a little under a month ago, on August 10th.
Or you could be like me and have an SA assigned to me since last November when I ordered my GT the very first hour available and still got him after he offered me the Gravity DE last January.

GDE in stellar white finally getting VIN number this month and expected delivery mid October.

Couple of thoughts I hope are helpful to those waiting.

1) A “Previn” is not a VIN. It will not have the same digits, etc as a VIN. It’s something Lucid uses internally. The actual VIN will appear buried in your dashboard, usually during production unless you’re taking an inventory car. Again, though, if it’s not actually produced, no one outside of Lucid and you will know the VIN.

2) SW Update - some cars show this early and some have an error message right up until delivery. Our first was the latter, though our in production GGT is showing software updates now. Again, seems random.

3) Knowing if it’s done - if it says “Preparing for Delivery”, it’s complete. And likely past the factory gate. Any other status and you need to email, text, call. All the interim internal status changes are only visible, and only in parts, internally to folks at Lucid. Also, up to this point, the general rule of 30-45 days from “in production” to actual delivery has been accurate. That said, there are plenty of folks on here who’ve been “stuck” in production or preparing for delivery for much longer. That seems to be a less frequent occurrence as production has ramped up.
This is helpful. We changed our order from Bronze to an orphaned "in production" black. (I will likely always have a slight regret that we aren't getting the Bronze, but we are tired of waiting). Our SA said it was supposed to have a "factory gated" (or something like that) date of August 24, but it is still there. Is that common? Who knows, maybe this one will be so delayed that they start producing bronze and we can go back to that.

Wait a minute, I don’t see the Gravity version of RangeXChange on the Lucid store. Can you just do this with a RangeXChange you already have but use the NACS adapter you can get for RangeXChange? I need to know, got points I must use!
I thought I saw one when I first got the Gravity as I was kicking myself I didn’t put the old charger back in the Air and kept the RangeXChange when I traded the vehicle. I would assume it would work with the adaptor. I’ve still got the old Air mobile charger in the garage collecting dust.

The RangeXchange adapter just plugs into the mobile charging cable where the NEMA 5/15 or 14/50 plug usually goes so I don't see why it wouldn't be universal as long as you have the Gravity's mobile NACS charger.

That was not the case for the Air originally, you had to buy a whole new cable set that supported RangeXChange and not just the adapter attachment, so what I’m wondering is if the one I currently own is compatible with Gravity if I just get the NACS RangexChange adapter, or if I need to actually buy a new RangexChange cable.

But wasn't that the adapter itself though and not the RangeXchange cable? I thought what you needed was the updated 40A "second gen" to use RXc and the Gravity's NACs is already that: https://store.lucidmotors.com/40a-mobile-charging-cable-kit-nacs/

That would be great, you may be correct that all I need is the adapter now that I have the V2 cable, although I’m not entirely sure mine is that one cuz I got the very first batch of RangeXChange cables when they got released and sold out in one day, they were cheap too like $150 for the whole thing.

Shame it’s not in the rewards store, the CCS one is.

Huh, I was hoping to use my rewards points to get a few things but don’t see a way to do that in the store. Did they change something? When I click on the link under my referrals and rewards it doesn’t open the lucid store even though it says that’s what it’s doing. 🤷‍♂️

Aw lame! The only way to access things you can buy using rewards is to click on the rewards store link in the Lucid app, which then takes me only to a small selection of Air items. That can’t be correct can it, where you can only buy a few things with rewards and only for Air?

Well my Wednesday delivery has been canceled- apparently there is a steering alert but the car drives fine. No timeline on my delivery..... maybe later this week, maybe next week. Who knows. Beyond annoying.
Did they specify if it was regular steering or rear wheel steering? Or did you not get the spec with rear wheel steering? That’s annoying your date got cancelled but less annoying than getting a car with a steering alert you’d need to bring back in.

You can do it from a PC browser but it's a pop up that gets blocked. The rewards store link is accessible in your dashboard but yeah, most of the bigger ticket items are for the Air.

I do have rear steering but no specification. He made sure I understood that the car was operating fine. It was just an alert that needs to be checked by the engineers.

Anyone else get a J.D. Power survey in the mail? First time for me and it is loooooooong. I'm being as fair and honest as possible; but there's no way to be kind on software features that aren't yet delivered (e.g. AR aspects of the HUD).

You should ask them if they’ve done a reset, then let it sleep for an hour, then come back. Odds are the alert will disappear…😆

Sorry, I know it sucks to wait even longer, but it sounds like it won’t be too long.

Has anyone had their status go from In Production back to Order Confirmed? After switching into an orphan on Saturday and seeing In Production/a VIN all weekend, I’m back to Order Confirmed as of a little while ago.
Yes. It happened to me when I matched with an inventory car but mine was in production. For a day or two, I went back to “ordered” even though I knew there was a VIN (not showing). Then it switched to “preparing for delivery” a couple of days later.

Interesting. Mine is sort of the reverse situation where my May 26th order was Order Confirmed, then went to In Production on Saturday when I matched an inventory car, and then back to Order Confirmed today for no apparent reason.

This is what my SA had to say about it:

“The car VIN went into being a batch number but also has started production at the same time.

The "Planned Broadcast Date" has been populated and we are looking at 10/31/2025, so the "Actual Gate Date" is going to be 2 - 4 weeks from 10/31 according to the notes.”

…which doesn’t really make sense to me unless the gate date is somehow 2-3 months from the start of production? It’s almost like I got swapped back to (what I had guesstimated would be) my original order timeline or something.
