Gravity Delivery Discussion

Okay, I’ve admitted my unhealthy relationship with my Gravity. But I refuse to believe I am the only one.

Do I need to start a thread for a support group? 😆
We’ve all been in the support group for a few years now. It’s called the Lucid Owners Club 😂

Just a thought, if you have the power option couldn’t you charge another EV with the 120v mobile charger? Albeit rather slowly.

Accessories I purchased for our Model S ( and will probably buy for our Gravity):
Sun shades
A second mobile charger with a 6-30 adapter
The biodefense filter, super duper hepa filter
Adapter and upgrade to allow CCS charging
A Chademo adapter
If FSD was an accessory we added it after purchase
A Blackvue front and rear dashcam

I had it with the Air, never used it. It’s a great idea but not something that would be used too often I feel. It seems to be more “hey, look what my car can do” at the moment.
Can it be used for the Gravity with some kind of adapter?

Lol on the same boat, my unhealthy relationship constantly reading LOC, stalking YT for new reviews - while my GGT has been "In Production" for over 25 days.
I can't imagine the agony for those that waited months

BTW, this does NOT end once you get it! Then you get so used to doing that and you want to see if anyone feels as amazed by it as you are, you keep on looking for videos and obsessing with it all!😂 We may all need some help....but then again, we love the crazy!

Haha, yes as an early adopter of the 2013 S & 2016 X - the obsession is bittersweet
Find myself looking for Gravity in the wild ALL THE TIME!

Did the error also appear on the software updates page? I'm curious to know if there's any way to know that my car has been actually built, short of a phone call...
I’m not showing any software updates either. I gave my VIN to my insurance agent and she said it’s not in whatever system she uses yet. So, I’m thinking it’s a pre-VIN and the car still hasn’t been manufactured yet, even though it’s “in production.”

My car has completed production but shows with the same errors.

Couple of thoughts I hope are helpful to those waiting.

1) A “Previn” is not a VIN. It will not have the same digits, etc as a VIN. It’s something Lucid uses internally. The actual VIN will appear buried in your dashboard, usually during production unless you’re taking an inventory car. Again, though, if it’s not actually produced, no one outside of Lucid and you will know the VIN.

2) SW Update - some cars show this early and some have an error message right up until delivery. Our first was the latter, though our in production GGT is showing software updates now. Again, seems random.

3) Knowing if it’s done - if it says “Preparing for Delivery”, it’s complete. And likely past the factory gate. Any other status and you need to email, text, call. All the interim internal status changes are only visible, and only in parts, internally to folks at Lucid. Also, up to this point, the general rule of 30-45 days from “in production” to actual delivery has been accurate. That said, there are plenty of folks on here who’ve been “stuck” in production or preparing for delivery for much longer. That seems to be a less frequent occurrence as production has ramped up.

At this point I don’t even have an SA assigned to me yet. I ordered a little under a month ago, on August 10th.

I think that’s fairly typical unless you order at a studio with someone specifically.

Bottom line - they’ll find you when it’s time to deliver and pay. Before then, it’s often up to you if you want info.

It took me about a week and a half to get one from the San Diego studio when I ordered at the beginning of July. I live near the studio and go to that mall fairly frequently, they're always busy lately, lots of people in looking at the Gravity and the test drives were booked solid for a while too. I do wonder how many people they've taken deposits from at this point, I've seen two people do it in the studio when I was there.

Has anyone had their status go from In Production back to Order Confirmed? After switching into an orphan on Saturday and seeing In Production/a VIN all weekend, I’m back to Order Confirmed as of a little while ago.

It happened to me, some months ago. I was told I had been mistakenly allocated a car that was homologated for Canada (if I am using that word right), and thus they had to "take it away" from me, so to speak.

That’s funny because prior to this one, my SA also tried to allocate me a car destined for Canada, but in that case my status never changed at all. I’m fairly sure that’s not the case with the most recent one but I’ll have to text her and see what is up.

I use the Air one a fair amount, I actually used it to rescue my wife’s Volvo XC40 EV when we were driving back from the solar eclipse in VT as she was about 20 miles short in range to get home and every charger on the way had crazy waits cuz everyone went to see the eclipse and the infrastructure couldn’t handle it at all. So I’m definitely getting the Gravity RangeXChange, I didn’t realize they had one! Now she has a V60 plug in hybrid, partly due to the charging headaches from the XC40 EV, but hey I get free charging at work so can then just charge her car off mine when I get home.
