When you try to engage DD do you have a gray icon of the steering wheel on the dash with target speed value next to it? It indicates that DD is available.
When my DD wasn't engaging I never had such icon because it couldn't sense my hands on the wheel, then it wouldn't matter how many times I pressed the button.
My point is to determine if DD is available, but not engaging, or maybe it's not available due to other reasons.
 
Make 2 parts isopropyl alcohol with 1 part water in a spray bottle. Use that on my Tesla window before it tries to lower the window when the door opens.

The car is having issues because the software team is on its 3rd restructure of management I believe (at least what's known publicly). That alone should explain why things are the way they are. Working for a software development company I know that with new leadership things won't magically change overnight and it's probably going to be a bumpy ride for the next 12 to 18 months.

Lucid prioritizes engineering above anything else and as a result, the software has suffered because of that. It's also kind of arrogant of them that they thought they were going to get away with this 2nd time over. The media is being less forgiving this time round and rightfully so.

I just drove 6 hours back to Atlanta. I can attest that many times the DD Pro wouldn’t activate when the gray icon of the steering wheel was displayed. Sometimes it took ten presses. Sometimes one press. The up and down functionality of the touchpad for speed adjustment was also inconsistent.

You’re not the only one with these kinds of issues regarding dream drive pro. I think some of this can be an attributed to the lack of responsiveness of the steering wheel touchpads. The worst is when you try to press the X button and dream drive does not shut off. Sometimes, many presses will work, other times I just press the brake. This is a major safety issue.

Today my rear driver side door was frozen shut. It rained yesterday and it was cold overnight - nothing insane - it was 30 when I was leaving for work but may have gotten down to 26 or so in my area per google. I don't think that should have caused the door to freeze.

I couldn't open it - I heard the electronic latch trying to do something but the door itself wouldn't budge even a mm. So I threw my stuff in the back over the center console (annoying) and started driving, but then I was getting an open door ding and an alert on the dash. So I had to stop, get out, and really yank the hell out of the door to finally get it open and re-closed.

It didn't help that the climate control that I had turned on through the app earlier that morning hadn't actually turned anything on.

I hope my winter is not full of these kinds of issues.....

FWIW the doors freezing in the winter is an absolute pain on all cars, and Teslas in particular. We would literally put a tape or a ziplock on ours to address this.

Not saying it should STILL be a problem today, but freezing rain will freeze handles for pretty much all cars.

sorry you had to suffer but not sure what a good solution might be.

As I indicated, this was the whole door that froze, not the handle. I have had some issues with my Tesla handles freezing, but I've lived my whole life in the mid-Atlantic, through much harsher weather than this, and I can't remember a whole door freezing shut unless the entire car was physically caked in ice on the exterior. This was not the case here.
 
Have had many car doors freeze shut, both in NY and VT. Rain (not necessarily freezing) followed by a temperature drop. Solution, get in through one of the doors and push other doors open from inside. Prevention, lubricate seals with a light coating if silicone lube (spay on a rag and wipe the seal).

Interesting that you make a distinction between "software" and "engineering". With EV's in particular they are inextricably co-dependent. You cannot really "engineer" an EV without giving equal attention to the software as we're all finding out.

I believe some people use a car cover.

Just requires close monitoring of weather forecast. If it rains and below freezing temps are forecasted, cover car. Requires effort and planning, but perhaps better than the alternative.

Car port also an option, but costs more than car cover.

Cold air at first seems to be the norm. Have to crank mine to 80+ and in about 30-60 seconds it gets hot.

It’s important to have your finger over the DD button area on the touchpad. I was clicking the edge of the touchpad many times till I realized it worked perfectly if properly positioned. This is a critical detail that wasn’t explained when I took delivery

Even with the finger properly positioned on the touchpad it can take several attempts. I played with this today on my 6 hour drive. The DD button and cancel-X button below the pad are even worse.

There are ways to combat this, but most people do not know how, and do not take the time or effort to do so.

That's why I ask you not to post it in this forum. It was not only incorrect, but more importantly, it doesn't actually contribute to the discussion as a result. If you want to use it as a source, by all means feel free to; it's fantastic for explaining difficult concepts, etc. But verify what it is it tells you, because it regularly makes things up. That is literally what it is built to do; it seeks to provide an answer, and if there is no answer or it doesn't know the answer, it very much wants to find one anyway, whether correct or not, and so it will simply make things up to make you happy.

And, in case this is misread: I am not against AI. Quite the opposite; I use it quite often, every day, including for programming. I am against people using AI to think for them, intentionally or unintentionally, and taking that as gospel.
